So EA has been paying attention to the business models of Patreon game developers

In business school they call it pivoting to SaaS.

EA really screwed things up for the rest of the video game industry. xD I figured that there would be fines for stuff like this but I'm surprised that there could be possible jail time.

I am of the belief that eventually they will just convert over to full "Service" fee for access and not sell (rent) the games to you EVER.

Well, what Steam's been doing for the last fifteen years is pretty much a game rental service and people had no problem paying the full retail price for games that are tied to one account on a service which isn't guaranteed to work forever. I'm sure many people won't mind what EA's been doing either, might even love it more.

If you think you have games on any digital platform, think again.

If your account somehow gets hacked, disabled, deleted or whatever, you either say goodbye to all your games or will have to deal with the idiots at the customer service for who knows how long... If you're persistent enough and lucky enough you might get your things back... what a nightmare... and we pay for this shit...

Keep in mind that DICE is a Swedish developer and what Soderlund actually means by "uneducated" is probably the people who aren't brainwashed by the Swedish education system.😩

By the way, it's probably safe to assume that as the number of female developers increases in the industry, getting hardcore realistic war games becomes less likely.

I guess he took time off from Anita Sarkesian pegging him with a strapon to make a video.  Regardles, Angry JHoe (the J is silent) isn't even worth hate-watching.  He's a paid shill.

I hope the people who asked for a TPP option in CP2077 and were denied, will do the same when that game's released, as CDPR's attitude on this has been basically the same, "accept it or don't buy the game". Doubt it would happen though, most people are hypocrites...

LOL, beat me to it. EA's a freakin' dumpster fire. As much as I would like to see them clean out the SJWs and make decent games again, I find it more enjoyable to watch the company burn from the inside out.

If EA was to ever loose the FIFA license they'd be fucked.  The only reason they can do what they do now is because of the FIFA money.  Take that away and they'd have to make games without the agendas and sad attempts at social engineering.

Anthem will most likely be another flop or a mediocre Destiny clone at best next year, which is probably the final year of Bioware, or "Bioware's husk" I should say... and that's one less reason to have any interest in EA games.

AHAAHHAHAHAHAAH!

Quote

Forgoing the complex conversation wheel of previous BioWare games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, Anthem will only allow for two dialogue choices in conversations. The two choices aren't aligned with a morality system of any kind, but do differ in tone slightly.

The "COMPLEX" dialogue wheel was too much for Bioware! So, you now have TWO dialogue choices... Let that sink in...

If one day someone comes along and claims that video games haven't been dumbed down, I will probably strangle him/her with my bare hands... and enjoy it immensely.

That's even worse than Fallout 4's dialogue system.

Is it though, at least it seems to let you say "No".😂

Okay, I'll give it to you on that one. Fallout 4 gives you multiple yes.

How is that even fucking possible?

In the age we are living of gaming, it shouldn't come with a surprise. We have developers competing for the worst consumer friendly and who can be the biggest liar on stage at E3. They seem so fond to continue to spiral down that direction.

Beth has already copıed Bioware's dialogue wheel and reduced it into a single dialogue option that appears like four... I wonder what their next move will be... no, wait, I don't want to know!😓

I downloaded the trial and am playing it. I have played it for a very short time but so far it isn't Mass Effect Andromeda ;).
So far the graphics are fair to good. Better than MEA. The facial animations have some issues from time to time but way better than MEA was. The game play is responsive and easy enough to figure out for the most part. (playing on very easy)
I have been playing less than an hour of my 10 hour trial so I havne't been able to do much but the first section and moving into the second one. I will give them points for their introduction. There is a fixed character you have during the campaign trial. Not sure if you bought the game if you would have a different one, however it is a female which is different than many games for hero. (if she is a hero considering you are playing as a solder from the Empire not a rebel)
I will post some more of my thoughts on this game during my 10 hour trial period. So far I enjoyed it more than MEA... however, that was a very low bar to obtain All jokes aside it is so far a solid functional game without any serious glitches. Haven't played enough to see if the story is interesting enough to engage but the shooting is pretty solid. Reminds me of ME3 shooting a bit. I don't play very many first person shooters like Call of Duty and the such so can't compare that.
review and spoiler (of sorts) (glitch experienced)
I am giving it a very open minded review. focus on playability and story etc. Not lore (I don't know that much about Star Wars during the time of this game)
Feel free to chime in. Please, chime in serious reviews, Youtube video reviews etc. If there are spoilers please placed them in actual spoilers so as not to mess the game up for others. People that actually played the game are more than welcome to make negative comments based on actual situations, story or experiences. Please refrain from commenting unless referencing actual game play or linked video of actual game play. Thank you.

After the SWBF 2015 community strife over paid DLC campaign maps and the 2017 kerfuffle of Mass Effect Andromeda, it seems EA still hasn't learned any lessons.  In a nutshell, EA is doing away with DLCs and implementing more 'pay to win' in-game microtransactions.  Gamespot has an article posted detailing what is going on.
