Fallout 76

So have you guys heard what the main plot point in FO70shits is?

The Greybeard Overseer leaves clues about the Alduin Scorch Beast that turns people into Scorched Draugr who serve it.  The final boss battle is with the Alduin Scorch Beast (a health bar that flies).  Oh, and people were rebuilding the world UNTIL the Scorch Beast Alduin messed things up a few days before you left the Helgen Vault.  That's what the petrified corpses are.  That whole 'rebuilding the world' thing...yeah you just missed it.  None of the notes laying around mentions any of this and neither do the robot or Supermutant vendors.  Only the Greybeard Overseer's messages lead the way.

AWESOME WRITING skills yah got there at Bethesda.  Practically Game of fucking Thrones.

So basically this is Skyrim in the Fallout universe or Fallrim. 😂😂 I wonder what Starfield will be.

What role do you think the chaurus will be playing in Poofield? The Xenomorph? 😂

Nazeem in space: "Do you get to the Cloud City very often? Oh, what am I saying, of course you don't."

Fallout 76, One Week After Release, Has Already Been Discounted by Bethesda Themselves

Fallout 76, Bethesda’s newest open-world game set before the events of prior Fallout titles, has released just over 10 days ago and we’re already seeing some pretty hefty discounts, even from the publisher Bethesda themselves.

Not only does the official Bethesda store have the game on sale for a lower price of $40, but almost every other big online retailer seems to have a similar price as well, such as Gamestop, Amazon, and Best Buy.

These discounts, popping up just days after launch, seem to be due to the poor reception that the game has received.

We published our Fallout 76 review just a few days ago and our own editor, Chris Jecks, gave the game a 2.5 out of 5, which is a “poor” on the Twinfinite rating scale. Chris was not only plagued with game-breaking bugs, but he felt as if the game didn’t know what it wanted to be, stuck between being multiplayer and single-player focused at the same time:

“At times, it tries to deliver that narrative-driven Fallout experience fans have come to know and love. And at others, it tries to push the boat out in a new, exciting multiplayer direction. But it never commits to either of these things and as such, feels lost in an uncomfortable middle ground that seldom satiates the desires of either single-player or multiplayer fans.”

Fallout 76 is now available on PS4, PC, and Xbox One. You can purchase it for $40 on Bethesda’s official site right here.

So much good has come out around the release of FO76.  Bethesda's reckoning was LONG overdue.

Yeah, it's great to see Bethesda finally get called out by professional reviewers for releasing a bad game and the continued use off an ancient engine. Now the question is how bad will Starfield be and will the reaction be similar next time around.

It's one thing for guys like us pointing it out and having fanbois attack us or moderators on LL or Nexus delete our posts; but those assholes can't do anything about mainstream gaming journalists taking Bethesda to task.  Even the scrublord shill Youtubers can't spin 76 into a good game.  What's funny to me is formerly aggressive and 'right by default' fanbois are playing the victim now.  It's like they ARE Bethesda.  I swear, it's s fucking cult like Feminism or Democrats.

Even now there are some that really like the game. On another site there are some that have some pretty good explanations (reasonable ones) that why they like it. They aren't upset with the issues that are presented (and even acknowledged them) I can respect that. Each to their opinion... even if it is wrong :P lol

I asked an updated of one of them to see what the current status is and if they did some serious fixes on some of the issues. :D

Bethesda Reportedly Reneges On Promised Fallout 76 Refund Offers

Bethesda's online RPG Fallout 76 hasn't even been available for two full weeks yet, but given how much there has been to talk about, it's felt like a lot longer. That is unless, of course, you are one of the players who decided to hop into the online Fallout universe, one that is plagued with more bugs than you can shake a rifle at.

As a quick recap, the game launched with a massive patch weighing in at 56GB. Days earlier, Bethesda penned a letter on its website to warn fans that the game would be buggy. This move was likely unsurprising to everyone who read it, as a buggy launch has become standard fare for Bethesda. Fallout 76 takes the number of issues to the next level and many fans are feeling ripped-off.

We've also seen servers crash when nukes were launched by multiple players, and one person managed to enjoy god mode for a while - and who wouldn't want a taste of that in an online game?

Suffice to say, many players are rightfully upset, and are naturally eager to seek out refunds. We wrote last week that one player was told a refund would be processed, but there has been major back-peddling on that decision apparently. Ultimately, Bethesda is not offering refunds to those who've already downloaded the game. If you purchased it, but never loaded it up (which seems pretty unlikely), it seems like you'd actually get your refund. In one case, a redditor said that Bethesda was initially receptive to a refund, writing:

Quote

Greetings!

Thank you for contacting the Bethesda Customer Support Team.

Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to begin processing that refund for you right at this moment. There is nothing to worry about though. We'll begin processing the refund as soon as we can and we'll reach back out to you via email to let you know once we've started that process.

Thank you for your continued interest and support!

Warm Regards,

 Bethesda Customer Support

However, things quickly changed with a follow up response:

Quote

Greetings, Thank you for contacting the Bethesda Support Team. Customers who have downloaded the game are not eligible for a refund. We apologize for the inconvenience. If there is anything else we can assist you with please reply to this email for further assistance. Thank you for your patience. Kind Regards, Bethesda Support

Needless to say, the redditor was not amused by Bethesda's second response.

There are many issues here, but the biggest one is the fact that no one should have to deal with the cost of a game when they never anticipated it to be this buggy. Early access games have become far too common, but Fallout 76 appears to be a very early access title. Gamers can expect some bugs, but bugs that prevent them from wanting to play the game at all should be reason enough for a refund.

This is turning into a massive misstep on Bethesda's part. Its fans have become all too familiar with game-breaking bugs, but there's no reason the situation should actually get worse with each new title.

Bethesda Game Studios Deceptive Trade Practices Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating Bethesda Game Studios for releasing a heavily-glitched game, Fallout 76, and refusing to issue refunds for PC purchasers of the game who found it to be unplayable because of its technical problems. While minor bugs and glitches are expected with the release of most new games, Fallout 76 launched with a 56GB patch that has proven to be but a starting point for the game’s problems. Gamers who have tried to receive a refund because of the game’s myriad glitches have been unable to do so since they downloaded the game, leaving them to deal with an unplayable experience until patches bring it back to a playable state.

Have You Tried to Receive a Refund from Your Fallout 76 Purchase?
