It appears that you can't use TextureSets on armor, or the game is bugged and Bethesda never fixed it. I had an issue with environmental effects not working until I switched to a NIF that didn't have a TextureSet attached. I've spent days trying to figure out what caused that.

I just got back into Oblivion, too! 

I generated this mesh with AI. Yes, I'm cheating. 

I'm going to try modeling this and a few buildings for the OpenMW game in Blender. After spending a few minutes modeling in Blender yesterday, I realized how dated Cinema 4D R14 is. It's going to be an adjustment, but I'll manage.
