  1. While I don't agree with everything he says in this video, he did point out many things that were true. The only reason Fallout New Vegas didn't have the success Fallout 3 did is because of the short window of development on Obsidian. And the games had over 200 bugs at launch because Bethesda and their obsession for Gamebryo. What else could Obsidian do about that? Not much. A short time of development and working with a heap of shit game engine. Yet, they did do a real good job. So for Bethesda to see this as a failure for not meeting their expectations, I fully disagree with that. For the amount of time they had and the resources they used on a horrible game engine, it did fine. Now what makes me cringe is that fact that so much content was stripped because (as always) they have to appeal to console systems. If they would have given Obsidian more time for development, which means New Vegas being more depth and the addition of the cut content never being cut to begin with, and more time to work out the bugs to top that off, it would of sold more than Fallout 3. And they could of just cut out that content for the console gamers due to restrictive hardware and memory for the console version. But companies don't like to spend more time and money doing that so they just go with the dumbing down PC version to meet the requirements for console systems. I never thought I'd defend New Vegas since it's not a game I much like, but back then when I was criticizing it, I was doing so off of my experience itself and not including the factors like the short time of development. Because I didn't really care to know more than what I knew about that game. And the reason why I'm even mentioning this is because I among many others would like to see Obsidian return to make another Fallout sequel. But given that it seems Bethesda wasn't too happy with the outcome of New Vegas, I feel like that is not going to happen.
  2. Who didn't see this one coming. When Bethesda first attempted to allow creators to charge for their mods, it was met with strong resistance. Because there was no real curation system in place, anyone could charge any price for a mod, and creators of popular mods (like the Macho Man dragon mod) could exploit that popularity and gain a massive profit. But the biggest concern was plagiarism, since anyone could steal someone else’s mod, put it on the store, and gain money for it. The other issues with the paid mod system were potential drawbacks, but this was a huge flaw. And once Bethesda saw situations like that start to appear, the company shut down paid mods altogether. With Creation Club, though, it sounds as though Bethesda will be handpicking the content that is put on its store and potentially even setting the prices for different forms of content (the bigger the scope, the higher the price). This will still be a way for people to earn money off their creations – presumably in a percentage split with Bethesda – but it doesn’t sound as though everyone can participate. There are still plenty of details for Bethesda to cover where Creation Club is concerned, but it apparently was important for the studio to make sure fans knew this wasn’t a second attempt at paid mods. The system does have people paying for mods, but the scope is smaller, the curation process is more involved, and it will not impact any mods that players are currently using. Creation Club will be available this summer for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It will support content on Fallout 4 and Skyrim: Special Edition. https://gamerant.com/bethesda-creation-club-paid-mod/undefined Bethesda is freaking lazy. They would rather make money off of someone else's work than make a new game. I wouldn't be shocked if any new game they do make is completely devoid of any meaningful content.
  3. The recent scuttlebutt and rumors are that the retailer chain Target leaked some documentation regarding a 'Bethesda: Game of Thrones' release. I'm not posting any links since everything at this point is rumors and if nothing solid comes out soon I'll be moving this thread to an Off-Topic area. Feel free to discuss.
  4. Reported by both gamespot and PCGamer, TES 6 is not in development according to Bethesda VP of marketing Pete Hines. The subject came up after a series of Tweets by Hines and was later verified an clarified by Hines in a statement to PCGamer. This directly conflicts with previous statements made by Bethesda game designer Todd Howard at a D.I.C.E 2016 interview, where he confirmed development for TES6. So what does this spell for a TES6 release date? Don't hold your breath. Given the standard Bethesda 3 year game release cycle, FO4 was released on Nov 10th, 2015. 'Starcraft' will be released in the Fall of 2018 and TES6 will hit the shelves in 2021.
  5. The Bethesda front man Toddsplains a FO4 mea culpa, but not really...among other things. Read the full article at glixel.com. The Cliff's Notes version: 'Yeah, the way we presented FO4 fell flat so we'll admit that much. Not that it changes anything.'
