A “simple” design that allows a slightly bigger UV isle and that reduces texture blurring (kinda)
Viper’s texture, specular, normalmap and mask were originated from a single 512x512 tiled image mixed with nodes, lamps and an environmental image; with all this I was able to add basic volume, shadows and highlights to the final result
Originally I wanted to use one of the leather patterns from the game but the scales were barely visible, maybe it’s because Sims 3 uses 256x256 patterns
Talking about patterns, you can mix them with the texture for interesting results, it just requires more work with the color wheel
“Fun fact”: generating the textures took a lot more time than modeling the shoes…

I took the original Alba, “cleaned and fixed” the mesh and changed the design to a stiletto heel

The original Devi were made a looooooong time ago and even when I’m sure it didn’t crashed anyone’s computer nor punched a hole in the ozone layer it had countless errors. So I imported the .mqo into Blender and “fixed and cleaned” the mesh replacing triangles for quads, adapting the shape to the Impossible Feet 2.0 and generating a new UV while trying not to go crazy with the polycount. The result is way smoother, patterns look better and it has more detail with only a 2k increase in polygons

I forgot where these came from, probably S3: Pets. Besides the shape these boots have a normalmap which adds a tad of detail to the whole package
I started this project in Milkshape 3D but scrapped everything and started from zero using Blender, that gave me the best chance of adding geometry only were needed along with “fixing” some of the UV deformation resulted from manipulating the mesh to hell and back
About pants and skirts made by EA: everything around the calves in length is mostly safe, skintight (aka texture pants/leggings) are too
Pants with volume around the ankle will clip with the exception of a pair from Into the Future
Also compatible with both EA and MedBod’s nude bottom, custom body meshes that have a different leg shape might clip

Translucent meshes tend to have issues when interacting with similar objects

Compared to the original these use the Impossible Feet 2.0 meaning zero gap at the toes and a different shape, also I added some geometry trying to give more detail to the mesh and finally I cleaned dozens upon dozens of errors everywhere (it made me remember the old good days where I spent days just moving vertices…)
The only thing they lack are two custom textures that were made to play with the translucent effect so you’ll have to use your installed patterns instead

This was supposed to be my very first release made entirely on Blender (also it was the “testbed” for the Impossible Feet 2.0) but it had serious problems like deforming the legs and looking awful, so it was frozen for 14 months
The untouched polycount was +18k which caused clipping in the fat morph, after optimizing it to 15k everything went back to normal so it seems there’s still some issues on my side when doing “high-poly” footwear in Blender
I do several tests before releasing anything but if you find anything wrong, besides what’s listed, please let me know

Being from Sims Medieval (ArisLongBootsRoyalJacket) I naively thought adapting these boots to MedBod would be easy… The thing is Medieval integrates footwear and garments into one so the boots don’t have all the vertices legs normally do and that creates a lot of clipping in Sims 3
After adding geometry and scaling the mesh the result isn’t as sleek compared to the original, one benefit is both MedBod and EA’s legs fit nicely
On the EA side you can mix this with mini-skirts, shorts and “texture pants” (like those leggings from Into the Future), anything else that touches the knees and below will clip. On the MedBod side the boots are compatible with legs and future skirts
Custom bodies with a different leg shape will probably clip like hell
Finally I changed the ‘OverlayPriority’ option inside the CASP, instead of using ‘0x00000005’, like normal boots do, it uses ‘0x00000007’ (shoes), this fixes issues with texture pants. Previous boots have been updated

Defects:
Patterns will look stretched all around, this is more evident when selecting geometric patterns
Boots look “all-kinds-of-weird” on CAS, in-game looks fine
Potential clipping with floor, chairs, beds, etc. and animation misalignment under normal simming. This can also can happen on custom animations and poses and also might cause leg/feet extreme bending (I usually don’t have problems on my game while using Passion or OKW, but I cannot guarantee yours)
3D accessories that contain morphs, like necklaces and alike from the game and other creators, might interfere with the shoes and cause severe deformation, don’t use both at the same time

Yep this is another version of Thigh High Boots with several twists
The original is a foot mesh that extends a texture along the leg, this one has leg part modeled that connects to the rest and gives volume, plus a little more detail thanks to the use of a normalmap
Beside making the mesh I moved the original texture 8-10 pixels down, because the boot and the leg both share the same texture and without this some ‘pixels’ might appear where the footwear ends
Another solution is to scale down the whole textures, but that reduces quality and requires more time
The only way to avoid clipping was to model the leg portion using the same vertices and proportions as the infamous MedBod, that means these boots will clip badly on the default body and any other custom mesh
Because I’m lazy I skipped the version for teens (it would require their own custom mesh, aka start over again instead of just scaling down), maybe next year
