bethesda Bethesda announces "Creation Club" (Paid Mods)
Doublezero replied to Doublezero's topic in Gaming Discussions
You're right. I looked at the page source and there's a noindex tag in the header right below the description. view-source:http://store.steampowered.com/app/72850/The_Elder_Scrolls_V_Skyrim/ <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> This tells search engines not to include the page in search results. https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/93710?hl=en Google tends to take it's slow time removing pages from search, so it's not surprising that it's still there. -

I know the original can still be bought through Stream but you can't find it with without a direct link. At least I'm unable to. -

They hid the original Skyrim on Steam?! I didn't think I could find more reasons to hate Bethesda. -

Intel's Cancelled Skyrim Rival - Investigating Project Offset
Doublezero replied to Doublezero's topic in Gaming Discussions
I somewhat agree. I don't know if mods on consoles will ever take off considering how limited they are. If they needed to be bought out (which I agree they probably did) going to Intel was their worst choice. Yes, I think it's fair to blame Intel. They only wanted the game to push Larrabee and when that didn't workout they canceled the project. Now they're just sitting on the IP. -
Intel's Cancelled Skyrim Rival - Investigating Project Offset
Doublezero replied to Doublezero's topic in Gaming Discussions
I agree. The game was never completed and for all we know the gameplay, story and multiplayer could have been worse than anything that was in Skyrim. There are however, may people out there who would argue that Skyrim's not an RPG either. Even if Project Offset was released, was a superior game and had all off the same features I still don't believe it would have beaten Skyrim in sales. The game would have been drowned by all the hype and Bethesda had a much better reputation and a legion of fanboys to defend it. I disagree about mods though. It added longevity to the PC version but not to consoles where 86% of the sales were made. Project Offset was doomed the moment Intel bought the studio. They wanted the game to take advantage their Larrabee GPGPU chip and that prevented them from releasing it on consoles. The game probably (and this is my conjecture) would have run poorly on AMD systems as well. -
Intel's Cancelled Skyrim Rival - Investigating Project Offset

I agree Skyrim is overrated but considering how much that game appealed to the casual audience and how well it sold I don't believe Project Offset could have competed. The narrator went into a fair bit of detail about the game. It seemed like a promising game. Too bad Intel got their hands on it. -

I've been fiddling around with some boot meshes and textures for the past few days and finally achieved the look that I wanted. So what's taking so long? Why haven't I released this yet? I'm aiming for this mod to be a major expansion of armor and clothing for both sexes. NPCs will be wearing the new armor and I'll be introducing new materials to the game as well. I created a blog where I'll be showing off the new gear that I'm adding plus the ones that wont make it into the game.

Bethesda Pulls the Plug on Pre-release Game Reviews: an OP-ED
Doublezero replied to Kendo 2's topic in Gaming Discussions
Apparently Bethesda has reversed their review policy and has been sending out review copies. In this video, they speculate that lackluster sales are why Bethesda did a 180 but I believe the problem is deeper than that.- 20 replies

I've never been a big fan of NeoGAF. The few times I lurked over there and read the discussion threads made my eyes bleed. If NeoGAF never recovers from this I wouldn't be upset one bit.

The dress probably doesn't have the HDT weights on them. I can take a look at them and see what the problem is.

LOL! I knew survival mode was going to be $15! I should've watch the video first. It's more like $8 but you have to buy $15 worth of Bethesda bucks just to purchase the mod. -
