  1. He made some good points at the end.
  2. One question gaming YouTubers should be asking right now is whether Microsoft is allowing Bethesda to maintain creative control over their IPs. Because if they do, there is no way Todd Howard wouldn't have knowledge that an Oblivion remake is in the works. Either Todd is lying or no game is being made. I remember Obsidian wanted to add a mini story to Fallout: New Vegas about San Francisco being destroyed, but Bethesda had them remove it. I don't see a third party studio making a remake of Oblivion without some oversight from Bethesda.
  3. The game is supposedly being made by Virtuos Studios. According to the early YouTube videos I watched, Virtuos has little experience making games outside of port jobs. The only real confirmation we have for this game are leaked internal documents from the FTC vs. Microsoft lawsuit. ZeniMax probably added the remake to their release schedule to make Bethesda a more attractive acquisition target for Microsoft. To be honest, I don't think ZeniMax ever intended to make the game, if they did we would have had an announcement from Bethesda a long time ago. If this game is made, I think it will not be all that successful. It will probably not be fully moddable and any changes they make have a chance of alienating long time fans and if they make too many changes it will not feel like the original at all. On top of that, the game itself may not be very good. This game is not a port, and the studio supposedly behind it has little experience making full games. I've read YouTube comments complaining about bugs in the original game, but the remake could have its own problems. I don't know if this game is real or not, but I will remain highly skeptical until there is an official announcement or someone leaks some gameplay footage, because still images are not going to do it for me. If the leaks turn out to be fake, a lot of gaming YouTubers who you would think would know better than to run off with a bunch of unsubstantiated rumors as fact are going to have major egg on their faces.
  4. My thoughts keep going back and forth between "this game may be real" to "this game was canceled years ago and these leaks are a massive troll job". Assuming this game is real, the fact that Microsoft is willing to release it without any fanfare means to me that the game is bad, the company has little faith in the project and is unwilling to put any marketing dollars behind it.
  5. I didn't post the video about it, but Bethesda authorized a strike a few weeks ago. Now that this game seems to be real, you have to wonder how much leverage they will lose in negotiations with Microsoft. If this game is a critical success (I don't think it will be), then Microsoft would likely be emboldened to allow more studios to make Elder Scrolls and Fallout games while Bethesda employees are on the picket lines collecting unemployment.
  6. Something feels off about this game.
  7. This has potential.
  8. Those super-secure online-only Windows accounts will definitely prevent this.
  9. Another former Windows user. I guarantee that when the AI bubble bursts, there will be a lot of regret at the tech companies pushing this AI crap.
  10. This beast. https://www.newegg.com/asus-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-cerberus-gtx1050ti-o4g/p/N82E16814126237?Item=N82E16814126237&_gl=1*nix0w8*_gcl_au*NjMzMTE4NzY2LjE3NDMwOTk1NTA.*_ga*MTM1MTY0NjY2My4xNzQzMDk5NTU0*_ga_TR46GG8HLR*MTc0NDI4NjA5NC4xMDAuMS4xNzQ0Mjg2MjM4LjAuMC4xNjM3ODk4MzY5 I'm keeping it for my VM for now. It doesn't support DirectX 12 so newer games are off the table. Also, I believe the paltry 4GB of ram is why Skyrim crashed on me so often.
  11. Good. I find this game interesting. Good thing I just bought a better GPU, my current one sucks lol.
  12. Yeah, this is creepy.
  13. Micro$oft: To improve security and user experience, we will remove the command prompt in the next update.
  14. Microsoft will just patch it. I don't understand why these YouTubers are playing this game of wack-o-mole. Either switch OS or accept online-only accounts.
  15. After spending some time on a Linux desktop, I'd like to say that it's faster than Windows 10, but I also want to be fair and admit that my Windows 10 installation lasted about 7 years, and Windows tends to slow down over time. But after watching the video I posted yesterday, I'm starting to wonder if Microsoft had more of a hand in this.
