Also, I would suggest to people that if you create a good stable install for Skyrim or any other game that you backup your mods/files you used.  Either on an external or Mediafire/Mega.  There are mods I have used in the past that are no longer available today.  Its nice being able to dig into an old external and be able to find it.

Also remember that this " Guide " is just that.  The author has found, per their opinion, the most stable balance of performance and graphics for Skyrim.  As this is just a guide only and not as a " one click install " you as the user of said guide and choose to omit or add in other mods.  There are some in this guide I don't use, while others I go out of my way to make sure I use.

NOT meaning to sound like a bitch...

But this is info that is basically known already, bc the guide is fairly well known.

While I appreciate your input, the obvious doesn't need to be stated.

    Cool

Afterwards are you considering working on the new Skyrim or SkyrimSE? Perhaps "the most necessary mods" not as heavy as this one but one that holds the most required simple "base" for Skyrim SE for people to use all the time and use as a jumping point?

Yes, including conversion steps for some of people's favorite mods.

  3. Skyrim, preferably... as it will be the most relevant to Fallout 4.
(Yes, Kendo. I know. "Blah blah Fallout 4 blah blah"). Lets face it. While it's a shitty came at it's core (story-wise), there's a lot of potential for mods to make a great game. I wanna add to that with a small story of my own :)

I can't do much more than that. If the pages flip links and such I can't help that. I am not going to rewrite the post. Eventually it will be impossible to see where I start and Anatriax ends. Especially when I don't know what is going on enough to properly edit and update the various steps. I haven't even used the install (backed up now) of MO except to test it lightly to see what the differences are. The best option is Anatriax comes through on occasion and sees my feable attempts to point to correction post and updates and edits it (corrects the errors and smooths it over nicely). :)

Feeble attempts my ass. You're doing just as I would do <3

New mod user here, so I'll probably have more than a few questions.  In phase 1 we've got a link for mod organizer and the guide says the current supported version is 1.3.8. I've checked the nexus and the latest version is 1.3.11. Now, can I download mod organizer 1.3.11 or do I absolutely need to download 1.3.8?

Edit: I've downloaded 1.3.8 and moved on to the instructions for SKSE in phase 1.  From here on out just assume that I know next to nothing about how all this stuff works. In step 3 for SKSE I am instructed to right click and make "Data" either a .zip or .7z Archive and to name it SKSE. I right clicked the folder Data and chose the option 'Send to compressed (zip) folder.' That made a new file named Data.

Is that right? From the instructions I thought the Data folder itself was going to change into a zip file. Instead, it just added a new zip folder and left the old one alone.

Moving on. I follow steps 4-7. After I finish step 7 by clicking on the zip file to be installed into Mod Organizer, the next window that pops up is the Quick Install window.  According to step 8 I should be able to right click "SKSE" and set data directory but I can't. If I click the manual button it opens up a new window with red "No game data on top level." On that window I can right click the tab and set data directory and get the green "Looks good" bit.

Basically, unless I didn't follow it right, I had to take an extra step that wasn't mentioned in the guide to get the result. Being completely new to all this, I'm trying to follow the guide to the letter and am afraid this will bite me down the road of this extensive set up.

    1) The latest supported version of MO FOR THIS GUIDE is 1.3.8. It clearly states that if you use any other version of MO that it can cause complications with this guide.
    Please read.

    2) The ID picture at the top of MO, not in the workarounds tab. Again. Read.

This is all coming down to things not being read that are clearly written. Things that I know I've cleared up because RitualClarity brought the same concerns to me.
EDIT: Another potential problem could be that the introduction video to MO has not been watched. Watch it.

If something isn't working for you, take a step back, breathe, get a cup of coffee... come back in 10 minutes, REREAD the instructions, and try again.

    That's all I can say.

This guide was typed up AS I WAS INSTALLING, and each step was typed as it was taken. Read carefully.

That is a HUGE endeavor. You will need lots of people. Frontier has been building for more than 2 years and still not ready for release. (that is something along he lines of what I believe you are discussing). A giant team worked on Project Brazil. That is if I understand the process.

I don't have any skills.. :( and haven't even really tested the tutorial to its fullest (beyond level 2) even. I do have a backup of it ready just in case something happens though so there is that. I just haven't had much time to do anything gaming wise. (did play a bit of Deadrising recently but only the first level). I can't even really test what you have working (as i have only briefly tested your tutorial to know with some confidence that it works great with a few tweaks etc likely due to my placement of a few things etc, nothing major).

If I do end up with any time I'll let you know... Not sure what I could do but no harm in giving it a try :)

Have you tried posting this on other sites to get more interest?

Not yet. I'll get there. I want to learn more of what I'm doing with CK first.

Basically you are talking about an Alternate Start mod?

    No.

A totally separate worldspace from the Commonwealth, with a new story, new NPCs, and everything included.

Nothing huge to start. It would definitely have to start as a quest add in for existing FO4. Eventually, though... I want to do something along the lines of what was done with Nehrim and Oblivion. Same game engine. Different story. Different world, eventually. That's the goal, anyhow.

  8. So. I've been sitting around thinking, and I have a vision of a new world space for Fallout 4. However, I don't want to do it as a simple quest addon for existing content. (maybe that's how it should start, just to make sure quests and all of that are working properly, and the world space is as desired).

The idea, is you create a new character and load into the new world space. This would be a new story line (maybe not with the stunning opening), and essentially a new game.

I have an idea of what I'd like done. A very solid idea.

I just want to make it a team effort.

    Anyone want to contribute? :D

I was wondering how you guys/gals felt about adding the following 3 mods to the list?

    Better Vampires 7.2  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9717/?

    Royal Bloodlines  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22565/?

    The Paarthurnax Dilemma http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18465/?

For BV, I use the installer, and make sure to install the compatibility patch for Royal Bloodlines, and the Vampire Drain no AOE.  The two mods work together to really make vampires worth playing.  Basically overhauling Vampires like PerMa overhauls the rest.  I know the early versions of BV were buggy, but the mod is mature now, and works well.

The Paarthurnax Dilemma is one of my must have mods.  It is simple, yet a far better option than Bethesda gave us.  This guy is literally one of the if not the oldest being in Skyrim, and some washed up has been of a scar faced tart says you have to kill him even though he left behind evil and actively helps mankind?  This lets you rebuild the blades and tell Delphine to drink a nice cold glass of Shut-The-Hell-Up-And-Sit-Down.

These will not be included. I've tested them, and don't like the outcome with the other mods.

  10. No. Realvision cannot be used with this setup. Purity takes care of everything that CoT does, PLUS Realistic Water Two. However, it handles lighting differently than CoT and that's what makes it not work.

Now... there is PUREvision. Same author as Realvision, but it's based on Pure Weather and Pure Water: the predecessors to Purity.

As far as managing presets, check out ENB Man. It's a handly tool, and I use it to handle ENB presets for ALL of my games that use ENB / Sweet FX / ReShade (Which are a lot of games that I play. I won't lie.)

I had the strangest issue that I traced to Samsung Magician software. It was messing with the resolution of all things. Absolutely mind boggling. Removed it and now I don't get two sizes of resolution. Large, stop wait regular size. Don't understand it.
This resolved a problem with starting the game and it taking 2 or more minutes to fully get to the screen to continue/etc. However I am still having the spinning waiting symbol for 15~30 seconds before it gets to the Skyrim splash screen. Anyone else have that problem? Anyone with some ideas on what is causing this?

Also some ideas on configuring the ENB for maximum reality.

OH and on another note after installing DynDOLOD using another folder off of MO it worked. Still had the issues but those are normal and expected according to the reports. Inside the game it shows it is active

Oh and a simple dungon screen cap showing lights and fog. This is the best fog I have gotten. I have gotten the light like this but never the fog looking as real as this. Standard settings for ENB no real tweaking.

Try it with Seasons of Skyrim ;) That's my favorite preset. I use it with a custom tweaked Brokeh DOF that I'll PM you, if you want.

I have another question, and I don't mean to offend, or open any cans o' worms, or anything like that by accident, but just thought to ask-

As I read through the whole guide, I noticed that it is very immersive, but the naughty part is pretty much gone now.   In the old version, phase 8 or so was the sexing up of skyrim, adding all the sexlab stuff.

Is that pretty much gone now?   And if so, is it due somehow to not being on LL anymore?   or something else more bug or performance related?

Like I said, I hope to not cause any bad discussion, I'm just wondering about it, as that was pretty much a lot of the mods that I was wanting to play, both immersive and naughty.

It's actually bug and performance related. It has nothing to do with me not supporting LL. I do support LL, and am still somewhat active there.

However; as much as I admire Ashal's work and efforts... it's still ridden with bugs and problems, and so are MANY of the mods that depend on it. Bad code stacking on bad code is not a good thing.
