Personally not my cup of tea. Like Sims. But I am curious to see where this goes as far as modability. I'm sure if it has mod capability, the game will explode.

At first viewing it was very interesting. I saw an LG tv and some cars and such. It looked more hyper realistic than Sims 4. Looking hyper realistic is nice but story and support and immersion is more important.  Also what you stated @endgameaddiction is very true.

It looks like they are trying to make it very moddable. The ability to add a texture from file is strange but original. There is evidence that they want to make modding part of the game. However, this could also be simply because they didn't lock down the game (yet) which they might do once they officially release it.  Besides making it modable, I would like to add a mod manager as well as very well documented tools. Tools that are either added to free software like gimp and Blender or released tools would really make this super popular.

I like their approach that they have given the option to even change the landscape beyond your lot. YOu can make changes to the city if you desire. If they added a way to create a entire city that you could download and place in game ... that would be terrific as well IMO. I can imagine people creating neighborhoods or even full cities (if the size would allow. If not sections)

I believe it is at least worth keeping an eye on. Not worth paying 40 dollars currently for.

I'm keeping it for my VM for now. It doesn't support DirectX 12 so newer games are off the table. Also, I believe the paltry 4GB of ram is why Skyrim crashed on me so often.

It is pretty low on VRAM. That is very likely why you crashed if you had lots of textures. It isn't horrible. But not the best. Even a 1060 would have served you better.
