Bioware shut down, Next Mass Effect canceled

Bioware is being shut down. No new Mass Effect game. Good.

After Electronic Arts (EA) was sold off, the inevitable has happened - they're doing some restructuring and cutting jobs. This was announced on the official EA website today, in a post from Cam Weber, President and CSO, and David Tinson, President and COO.

They don't exactly go into too much detail on what's changing but they did confirm that BioWare is closing and Mass Effect development stopped:

"As we focus on these larger opportunities, we've had a small team at BioWare working on early-development for Mass Effect. We've made the decision not to move forward with this development, which means we’re closing the studio and our Edmonton workspace. BioWare is a legendary studio that helped define the role-playing genre, and we do not take this decision lightly."

Also confirmed is their two upcoming action-adventure games with Marvel’s Iron Man and the next Star Wars Jedi game. After that, they said they will "concentrate our efforts on fewer simultaneous, large-scale projects, ensuring that every game we build in this space is fully set up for success".

EA will also continue investing in Battlefield, Apex Legends, EA SPORTS, The Sims and skate. However, the skate team are being downsized too, which is not a big surprise since the latest release is not exactly too popular.

I vaguely remember hearing that Mass Effect was on hiatus after Andromeda flopped.

You know. Someone a long time ago, I forgot who it was, mentioned that it is dangerious to stay with the current extreme left wing people.  I was moderate then and I was like your crazy. Who you socialize with doesn't change you that much. 

Well, jumping down that rabbit hole about this dude. See older pictures around the time he started Bioware and the most recent before they shut down and you can see how dangerious it is. How much it can change some people.  Before he looked (and IMO very likely) acted like a normal professional. Going in doing his job. Having discussions on various options and likely a somewhat open mind. Then slowly that was wittled away and he is now what he is today due to that. 

I could be wrong but looking at some long time employees working in the gaming industry many of them changed and changed HARD. Those that didn't became the enemy of the developers and fired. I looked a bit more and kept on being confirmed. Those few that held their goround and didn't drink the Kool Aid got kicked out. Each time it strengthend the crazy people and further corrupted those that were associating with them.

OH it was BAD. VERY BAD.  

Especially if you bought it on release day.  Besides totally ignoring the formula that made the game great. They intentionally hit the women with the ungly stick. REAL HARD. if you get my drift.  I meean, dam, I understand you don't want them all to be super model level looks but for christ sakes, don't make them look like they are the result of 10 generations of incest. (look at the Hasburg royal family for reference lol) 

Hell even the way the walked looked like they had Cerbal Palsy.  When compared to the males looking normal to decent it was really shocking.  Thinking about this is giving me PTSD ... lol.  

I tried to really get my moneys worth out of it but after a bit I couldn't. It was just too bad. Not in the qurkey way that Fallout and Skyrim games give. (they have at least a slight get out of jail as you can mod them and fix them as time goes on)  It was just bad. 

Honeslty, Id rather deal with a game full of Social Justice requirements for example like Vandguard! As oppose to that slop of repetitive slop with so many issues. Shit the eyes, the eyes looking around were horrible. Holy crap they were bad.  (The Vandguard reference is the various extreme SJW videos showing the bad parts. I don't own it or ever would unless I got a lobotomy (perhaps not even then) )  At least it looked like Vandguard actually functioned. The eyes, lord the eys .. (PTSD) atually seemed to track properly. They don't look like they were hit extremely hard (women) with the ugly stick. Not that they looked great but didn't look like generations of incest.
