  1. Yup, Microsoft is buying Obsidian and not just them, Brian Fargo's inXile as well. It's like an Interplay reunion. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-11-09-microsoft-studios-obsidian-inxile-entertainment-acquisition https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/11/10/microsoft-to-acquire-obsidian-entertainment-inxile-entertainment https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2018-11-10-microsoft-to-acquire-rpg-specialists-obsidian-entertainment-and-inxile It almost sounds like M$ is planning to make an RPG... but I highly doubt that anything good will come out of it... probably buying them to kill them off... I bet this is happening because of the reception Cyberpunk 2077 got at the Xbox event E3 2018. M$ got jealous... It's also possible that MS just wants them for their portfolio, you know, just wants to publish their games under MS title. Not sure what that means for us though, knowing MS, possibly not anything good.
  2. You were a crap game and I've spent hours and days to mod you into a decent game, which, I believe, has somewhat paid off as we've been together for almost 7 years... Well, happy birthday!
  3. Diablo Immortal, Halo Infinite, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Doom Eternal... pretty much sums up the state of the gaming industry... I wonder what is next... Fallout: Forever, The Endless Scrolls VI? Not sure who to blame for it though...
  4. I would accept banning an IP address or an IP block only as a last resort against continuous spam or hacking attempts coming from particular IP's or IP blocks, but banning an IP address just to keep one person away is retarded. IP addresses aren't associated with particular people, what if someone else gets the same IP later on? But of course if you are an arrogant dickhead with a massive ego, you wouldn't give a damn about that and Nexus seems to have given enough power to some people to be just that. By the way, a lot of ISP's can no longer give their customers "unique" IPv4 addresses. Some have started using CGNAT's (Carrier-grade NAT) due to their limited IPv4 address pool and many users now have to share the same IP, which may cause a lot of problems. Banning one of these IP's means banning hundreds of unrelated people, maybe thousands, as they are also dynamic IP's.
  5. I believe any modification that gives the player an advantage is a problem in a MP game, no matter how slight it is, like that lockpicking mod for instance. I don't know if FO76 uses any client side scripts in the game, but this tool seems to allow tempering with any packed file, so you may theoretically overwrite *anything* in those packages, even scripts in the game. Replacing meshes and textures may sound harmless, but if that lets you see things you're not supposed to, for instance, such as the location of another player, many would consider it as an hack.
  6. I've already heard about the network traffic between clients and the server being "unencrypted", but this video of that MxR guy, which idiotically celebrates that people have already come up with a bunch of client side mods, takes everything to a new level of stupidity, as people could easily tamper with the game's files. Since the game doesn't seem to have a client side file verification system like most other MP games, anyone can easily add all sorts of mods and stuff that can be considered as cheating in a MP game. In fact, the lock picking mod in the video can be considered a relatively harmless one. This game is like an amateur game developer's first attempt in making a multiplayer game. Edit: Here's a Reddit page discussing the issue. As someone suggested on that page, you probably wouldn't even notice if someone were mining bitcoin on your PC through your 76 client. On the bright side, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to come up with a fake server which may then be used as a private server for sex mods and stuff, but would you really want that despite being a massive security risk? Edit2: While I'm always inclined to believe anything that shows their stupidity, the rumor about unencryped network traffic is potentially baseless. I haven't seen any proof of it, while I've seen quite a few people posting stuff that proves the opposite.
  7. Ahahaha! Microsoft's at it again! https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10s-activation-servers-suffer-issue-causing-pcs-lose-activated-status Some messages on that page...
  8. As they always do... Bethesda has got to be the most memefied game developer in the world... They've literally become a joke...
  9. I've had too many *facepalms* today but here goes another one...
  10. You might want to save this, you know, just in case, might have some use as a meme...

I'm not sure if it's just me, but this thread doesn't seem to have a title, which makes it impossible for me to access it directly, had to spend a few minutes to figure out a way to read it.
  12. It's pointless to argue about the validity of the Fallout content on wikia, because it's pretty obvious that most of it have already been retconned in order to explain the reuse of supermutants and BoS in FO3. The same thing will happen in every new Fallout game as long as they keep reusing the material from the original games. As most of the fans of Bethesda's Fallouts have no clue about the original games, they will accept everything they say as a fact. Beth could place a supermutant on the moon and then come up with a explanation as to why it was there, and the Beth fanboys would say "Makes sense! I believe in Bethesda!"... Dum fuks...
  13. Preston Garvey gets replaced by a guy named Dutch and you're basically function as his errand boy all throughout the game. Despite all that nice environments and graphics, even FO4 is more of a game compared to this piece of shit. Some quotes from a 4chan thread... There are many more like these in this thread... https://boards.4chan.org/v/thread/438108849 GOTY my ass! It's a bloody joke.

  15. LMAO @ (((Rosenberg))), (((Schreier))) and so many other corporate cocksuckers who claim to be "journalists". I've seen amateur Youtubers who have more integrity. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DrMU9IwU8AEekSV.jpg
  16. I think Blizzard fans deserved this. Obviously, every new generation needs to get fucked a few times by corporations until they learn not to trust them. I'm more annoyed by Youtube's censorship.
  17. It's unlikely to happen though, because video games have become way too mainstream and they've also become too diverse in terms of platforms.
  18. I'm not that optimistic about it, as their fanboys are very susceptible to hype and Beth knows how to exploit it pretty well. If 76 fails to meet expectations, they will quietly sweep it under the carpet and fans will forget all about it pretty quickly once they're teased with a new mouthwatering video about Beth's next game.
