And I said I'd wait a year!? So let's just go over a minor list here of what's needed.... Face/NPC makeovers. Body replacers. Clothing/Armor replacers. Animation replacers. Ship replacers. I'll consider.... "buying" it about a year after release. Provided the modding community is strong. I think it might take what's left of FO4 (and it's not much) as the setting is a little better. Seemingly. I mean, it's Bethsoft so we can expect if it's possible to screw up, they'll manage. I fully expect horrifying bugs, an infantile to actually insulting "plot", and probably terrible gameplay. All of which will need fixing with ... STSE?

I love this part: "Computers running these operating systems, when connected to the internet, are susceptible to new malware and other exploits..." Yeah, just like the new ones then. And yeah a refund should absolutely be the first thing they offer. But oh no, you can't have a refund for something you paid for that we are arbitrarily saying you can't play now.

I just want to congratulate you for not playing with the idiot system and going your own way on this garbage. I still remember when you bought a game, you BOUGHT a game. None of this launcher nonsense that sucks up resources and forces you to be online to even play an offline game. Though I'm not aware of any cases with games, I have had books and a couple movies I "bought" disappear because the tech overlords thought we shouldn't have them anymore. (I have copies still of course.) As for the , it is a return to simpler times. Case in point: I own a game called Surviving the Aftermath. (Middling game. Don't recommend it unless you're extremely into post apocalypse.) The caveat: it's on Epic. (And no I didn't buy it on Epic, one of those buy this, get that free deals. ) I recently moved hard drives and just did not feel like installing that crap just for one game I don't play much. Went , works great! No launcher. No Epic. No hassle. To top it off, the has a great support forum that doesn't require a support ticket the devs won't ever answer. When the thieves erm.. socioeconomically disadvantaged () offer a better experience, there is something very very wrong with the industry. We really don't buy games anymore we pay for the privilege of playing them. Until you say something naughty, have an original thought, or they just decide you can't play it anymore. What a world.

You're absolutely right. Thinking back, getting Skyrim AE fully operational was more like a month. And that's with a very mature modding community that took years to develop everything. Even if I wait a year before "buying" Starfield, there won't be enough mods fixing everything yet. -
Well, I meant ... "discount". Although I never did pay for Skyrim either. Got that as a freebie along with some CC years after the fact. The more I think about what would be needed for me to even play another Beth game though... I'm more aligned with Bjornk up there. We know the plot is crap, they will do the laziest sort of "quests" and there will be bugs galore. Do I really want to spend 2 weeks getting the game into a workable state via mods? Probably not.

I'll wait a year. Check the modding scene. If it's a decently active scene, maybe I'll pick the game up for a huge discount. But I'm not optimistic.

Heh, you know I always assumed (stupidly) that if I tried for those idiots at a higher level with more fame the dialog would change. Right. Bethsoft. What was I thinking? I like the references to cash. Or other stupid modern vernacular that makes no sense. I also love playing as an elf and literally nobody but the bandits seem to even notice. -

Yeah but.... the original Oblivion's plot was almost as bad as Skyrim's. (Almost. Comparing the two I did at least go all the way through Oblivion's plot. Once. Won't ever finish Skyrim's idiot main plot. ) I personally prefer the Beyond Skyrim approach as it doesn't retread where we've already been.

Wow am I late to the response party! Any WW animation will work with DD. I'm afraid I'm not up to speed on the pets anims, but I think the DD wiki has a list. For regular anims: Azmodan, Yrsa, Atrois, E404P, GreyNaya, Mike24, Savaccini... just to name a few. All work with DD. You can find a bunch on LL, though your best bet might be to search elsewhere as a lot of anims are paywalled these days.
