This is an angle I usually don't consider when I bash Creation Club. We don't know how much it costs to run Creation Club, but let's use Wikipedia as an example. In 2025, Wikipedia spent $3.4 million on hosting. Creation Club launched at the end of August 2017, so that's roughly nine years. If my numbers are correct, they're making $3 million a year — and that's a stretch, considering how bad the console market is currently. If their hosting expenses are similar to Wikipedia's, I doubt it's bringing in enough money right now to justify it. Other costs include curation, but they allow almost anything to be sold there, so I doubt it's much. Bug fixing? From what I've seen, they don't fix them. So the costs are probably strictly for hosting. I will concede that it is probably cheaper for them to pay 37.5% to modders than to hire someone full-time to produce Creation Club content.

Todd said modders made 10 million through Creation Club, ChatGPT says modders make 37.5% of the profits, so Bethesda roughly made 27 million with Creations. Assuming my math is correct, this whole thing is a big failure. We don't know how much they make daily. The majority of the money could have been made when Starfield was released, for all we know.

I've been watching YouTube videos about the Xbox layoffs, and I'm surprised that there hasn't been much outrage about them in the comments that I've seen. Most people are saying that this was inevitable, or going off topic and complaining about Sony killing physical games.

According to Statcounter, the desktop operating system market share for Linux in the US is up to 9.59% so far in July. I'm not sure I buy this yet. Could it be the Steam Machine effect, or bad data from Statcounter?
