It's what's known as 'Man's World'. Construction jobs, oil field work, power plants, the military, etc. Men talk shit to one another and in that world people who waste time are a waste of time. There isn't any coddling and 'try harder next time'. When you fuck up and waste someone's time you get your ass chewed out. And God help you if your mistakes or ineptness fucks up someone else's work. Linus might be from that world. It wouldn't surprise me.

I only know a few people who use Linux Mint. At work we have an old late 90's model IBM that has a fossilized version of Linux on it. The only reason it hasn't been thrown in the dumpster is we have AutoCAD files on it that can't be opened with Windows. That version of CAD is no longer supported. My brother-in-law has a nephew who works for Wells Fargo and they use Linux. I think Walmart does too. I have no idea how developers pulling their contributions will affect the Linux core and I really don't care.

My mistake. I never consider Millennials as part of the work force unless it's Starbucks, delivering pizzas or dancing on a brass pole. At work we tried teaching a few AutoCad and it was pointless. They couldn't do the math for fractions to the 64th (our maximum tolerance) or read a ruler.

@bjornk That Verge computer build video? One of the main editors of Verge Tweeted that there was a 'campaign of hate' against the presenter and that's why they took the video down. In other words they played the SJW victim card once people started calling them out about how whacked their build was.

That isn't always possible. NOT making any excuses for LL, btw. They're dirty and they know it, it's just that they can't be challenged so they abuse their moderation powers. The ONLY posts that are hidden/deleted without discussion here at NSFW are marketing spam. Otherwise the ugliness is present for all to see, unless the OP deletes them. To my recollection we've only had one instance of someone repeatedly breaking the rules and their posts are still up. We don't hide or delete posts, but then again we're not closet SJWs hiding behind a 'no drama' rule.

I don't care about the OP or the topic of the thread. What I was referring to happened on the second page. A member posted something that didn't break the rules but a staff member deleted it because they didn't personally agree with what was being said. The poster questioned why his post was deleted and another member agreed that there was nothing wrong with the post...so a staff member locks the thread. SO...the staff created work for themselves in an off topic thread by deleting shit that didn't need to be deleted AND they locked the thread because they fucked up and got called out on it.

LL is a CPU's personal German shitshow. And DocSux and GregtheTit don't know how to moderate; actually none of them do. That's why they're over-worked and why they focus on stupid shit that doesn't matter. Policing off topic spam threads is easier than dealing with real forum issues like rampant mod theft from other sites and paid modding. They're clueless and stuck in a self-perpetuating and self-inflicted miasma. The staff wanted LL to be the way it is and now that they have it they're unhappy. Boo-fucking-hoo. Zero fucks given to what happens to that site.

The female combat roles in ww2 were; Russian pilots and snipers, Nationalist Chinese partisans, resistance fighters in Poland, Greece and France. That's it outside a few INDIVIDUAL women who did exceptional things. Anything outside of that fantasy-land wishful thinking. I'm just glad EA has lost money and they've taken yet another PR hit.
