It goes beyond that. Have you ever looked at a car from the 80 or before? Notice the fabric and carpet holds up way better than it does now on newer cars? It would be perfectly fine to me if they made these items super cheap and easily replaceable. However, cars and other electronics which were cheaper or in the case of TVs and such were getting cheaper now are going up out of this world. 

For TV, I already have a plan. I will use a Chromecast or something homemade using a Raspberry Pi to continue using my TV. For Apple products, there is a firmware and software system that will extend the use and allow updates beyond the premature discontinuing of Apple products. (prevent updates)  Google phones have a process where you can get and install a pure android option or even Linux on select phones. Phones like the pixel. Have the same option with my Chromebook if it still works when they stop supporting it. (for some strange reason, they keep on extending the level of support. Not complaining, but have to put that out there. ) It came from Google, not a third party. 

My biggest bitch on this type of subject is their refusal to allow you to work on their products even AFTER they declare it obsolete. Tesla is horrible in this case. Apple is in the same boat. Makes it harder for third party vendors to do work to keep perfectly fine hardware up and running until it is very reasonable to send to the junkyard or trash heap.

Just last April someone came on this site with some mental illness.  He was allowed to be here even after attacking a moderator. (because some random person on the web spouting something ... really hurts us. Hurts us bad ... lol... yea right)  But that was the first straw. Once it was discovered that he went to mod authors Discord(s) and attacked them there and then when addressed there, came back here to start shit... Yea. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. 

The leaders of this site are adults from a time when it was perfectly normal to have discussions of various points of view. Perfectly fine to agree to disagree. Back when "Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me" and other such phrases. 

The good thing about people being fixated on Nexus is they don't come here. They don't come and try to make this site "their" site. Try to push for changes that appeal to them. Start their bullshit. We occasionally get some of those people that do show an intended purpose of that bullshit, and we do address them. There have been people that have come and left because we weren't "their" type of site. That is 100% perfectly fine by us.

Also that games looks good. I haven't even seen a seond of the game play. I don't even know what it is about but it looks good. Why you might ask? Sure, I'll be happy to tell you. i can believe it. I say don't trust Microsoft with anything. At least anything that is importatnt for you. Same goes for Google or any other corporation that isn't open source and free. 

You can just grap an old computer. Perhaps one of those old ones that no longer will be valid for use with the Widoze 10 going out of service, and add a TrueNas Core or something server to it. Then get one of the free cloud services and set it up for yourself. YOu can put pretty much any dam thing you want there and not worry about it being shut down. I say pretty much anything as it won't protect you from investigation from the FBI etc. but you won't loose it due to some policy or automatic acton from the provider. 

I have a old computer now waiting for me to set up a server on it. I will then have music server, movie server, document server, back up optons etc. All where I HAVE CONTROL. Means a bit more work on your part setting up and making sure everything is good to go and occasional maintenance but in general these are set and done type programs and services.

Selling a business is a perfect time to restructure and refinance, resolve legal/licensing/tax issues, fire employees, change the customer base, dismantle unwanted corporate culture, etc.  It sounds like none of that is happening and everything thus far seems like a transfer of ownership, not a real 'sale'.

Just another reason to micgrae to Linux. You can still have access to your old license (if you bought a license) by using a VM. Many if not most VMS have "snapshots" which work better than any backup that you can get for Windows.  Have a clean shapshot and use your Windows based tools that you can't find a replacement for or haven't been able to find a proper replacement or learn how to use your replacements yet. Ideally you would migrage as much as humanly possible to Linux.  I had some serious problems when I started using Linux as the software wasn't what I expected. Took me some time to get the right software and get a work process out of it. However, I can tell you that after that learning curve, I am preferring many Linux options over the Windows ones. Much more preference. 

TL;DR. 

Migrage to Linux. No more future problems.

Yes, briefly a couple of times. I found the documentation not to be on the same level as Debian based distros. It is close but IMO I need to have more experience using Linux before I move to that. Also keep in mind that this is a "rolling release" which means that some things might not be as stable as Debian or even Red Hat etc. It is bleeding edge and likely has the gaming tools more advanced than Debian or even Red Hat Fedora,

I used Manjaro to install it both times so that i had some installation assistance instead of doing it the hard way.

However, I strongly advice as ... strongly as possible not to pre-purchase the game.  They havne't shown that they learned from their lesson.  Also all the original crew that worked on this and even more so, the crew that worked on the beloved Witcher series don't work there. It is a cold heardless cooporation. NOt an indy start up anymore. They only answer to their share owners.

Hello just an FYI. Various games produced by CD Project Red is on sale on Steam. Decent mark downs nothing insane. If you were looking for the DLC for Cyberpunk or the entire game now that they got it to work decently (several years after it's release by the way) now might be the time to get it. 

For the classics Witcher is on sale as well as Gwent card game.

Hell, if you fixed the stupid AI and fixed all the bugs which has already been fixed by mod authors with some tweaks here and there that people have praised you might have a nice release. However, not for FULL PRICE. I am sorry. I know games are pushing to go 80 dollars for new for AAA games and such, but that hasn't happened fully yet. Don't come here with a rework that is poor at best and then expect to get at or near current full price for games now.

I never wanted to buy the game however, I did have a temptation for about half a day with the praises and videos (from fanboys of course) to open my subscription to Microsoft Xbox to get to play it for a bit. If it was superb, I might have bought it when it was 20-50% off, depending on how much I liked it. I don't want to subscribe to Microsoft. I buy the game I want on Xbox (which is rare) Those games require a leisure easy game play for casual gaming. Think Hogwarts. Easy shit. Most games I want a keyboard to play, and to be honest, ALL Bethesda games are keyboard games. For me at least.
