The newer games I'm playing are native Linux right now. So that's not an issue in my case.

I have almost zero interest in the vast majority of new western games as they are still woke slop at this point. So that's not a problem. And indies tend to be Linux native or friendly as well. 

Really the only holdup might be stuff like Photoshop and Maya but those run on Macs. I use Macs for work so... there goes that issue for me anyway. 

 

Modding in LInux has gotten better from what I heard but if you are new and starting out, you won't know if it is a mod program conflict or issue or your fingers on the keyboard that is the issue. 

Please, people remove the drives from your machine if you are trying to duel boot. Just easier and safer.

Question. If they stayed true to the original script, wouldn't that mean that they wouldn't have the DEI?  The characters were changed to make it DEI right? 

I keep coming back to the fact that they need to create their own content. Fresh new content, not try to change everything that is popular to their ideas. They were popular because of what they were. They will never be as good if it is changed for DEI. It is forced and fake. 

There are movies that are good with good female characters, strong female characters. There are shows that have good homosexual / Bisexual characters. Of my top of my mind, Torchwood.  Very popular. Wasn't forced. Witcher has lesbians Sourcers one of which is a man hater. There is a cross-dressing elf in it for Christ sakes and it won so many awards. Start making good fresh content with skill and purpose. Leave the 007s and such alone. 

People still expect good from Bethesda?

Moved to some BSG.  Got some mods going on. 

Might play Last of US Part 1. Started it but it required a controler and I didn't want to pull one out so went back to BSG.

All that would do IMO is make news and a stronger push to move to Windows 11. For those that don't need windoze they will move to Linux. That is the worst case situation for Microsoft. Honestly, I don't think they even care about those. They will likely think they aren't their customers. This happens because too many people are drinking the coolaid.

unfortunatly eventually your computer will die and you will need a Windows version of some sort to play some of the windows games. At least currently. 

Linux gaming is getting better but when you have modding tools and such (created by individuals) it is usually created using Windows enviroment and doesn't tranfer well to Linux. At least not all the time. 

With Steam making a console now, and the Steam deck, It is my hope that gaming companies see the value in having games that run in Linux. This combined with free tools being constantly developed that they can use wiwthout restriction. Hopefully, the game producers will move to wards Linux

They have too many fans that they can abuse so yes, you know Bugthesda made money on this.

Serious people in AI use Linux.  Spark a new machine from Nvidia is Linux. Others are coming that are also Linux. Anything that is serious for profesionals other than some email garbage is often used thorugh Linux. (since many of the back bones are build with Linux) 

NPUs, TPU etc. are just excuses to make a money grab. Many are aware of this and are not going to bite. 

Steam OS, Bazzite and others (linux) is moving for the gaming sector with a vengance.  That is what most people have to pay$$$$ for to get something good. Otherwise they can run that shit (programs) in a VM in linux and have a better experience (Looking at Snapshot and easily transfering it to different divices. 

TL'DR Windows cooperation is shit. Has been shit for years and just getting shitter every step they take.

Install Linux. 

Use A VM for any Windows tools that are a MUST and can't be moved. Install it correctly and cleanly. Then make a snapshot. Use it and restore to the snapshot regularly. 

I only use Windows for my Windows based games. Most games are playable (from what I have read) but I want to use Windows for my Bethesda modded games and any game that owuld be on line

Hopefully, they learned their lesson from the first version. 

Pervious me, would have put the cash down game unseen. Now, It will be well after it has been released.  Don't get me wrong. It worked pretty well on my machine but it wasn't polished and there were serious issues that broke my immersion in the game. 

Thoughts? 

I'm playing some Prototype now that I fixed it so that it doesnt crash.   Nice game for the time IMO. Shows it age now, but still a bit of fun if you got it. 

There are several free games on Luna Games/Amazon Prime for users of this service. 

Of note for this site is Fallout 3 Game of the year, New Vegas, as well as Fallout 76. 

Fallout 3 / NV is for GOG 

Fallout 76 is for Windows Store. 

Free is good. 

You might find some other old delights or new experiences you might enjoy as well. The only cost is the time to redeem and download. That is a win in my book!

Modding the original xbox was known to be able to be done.  The main problem is the protections that they have or so they say. 

The most current Xbox is PC components. Pretty much the same.  Playstation as well if you have the right one 

Apparently you can even install Linux on an Xbox 360.

Interesting. You technically can install it on an Xbox X or S but they (microslofth) has protections on the console preventing it from easily being done. They (the hackers) have to figure out how to get past that first then it can be done.
