Haha! I mean, if you play a guy character, Gale apparently drops Mystra and suddenly has the hots for guys. Not much better for women though as all the female followers can't wait to hop in the player's pants. It's just overdone. I like it toned done a bit. The lockpicking was a reference to FO4. You pick locks and your follower will go from hating your guts to being deeply in love. In a few minutes in an area with lots of locks. It was OK for me until the monestary and that was just frustrating. However, the camera mods they have solve it totally. And let you really appreciate the great landscapes they've done. You get smacked over the head pretty fast with an anti-private land ownership message right off the start. And of COURSE refugees are good people who we should all just love. And of course every single gnome in the game is gay. (That might actually make sense though. ) Then there's the circus though... it's a circus. And then naturally a lot of the men are shown as idiots. While women's true love can only be other women. That stuff is straight out of Current Day™ as seen by NYC or California. Also a lot of the in-game messaging and notes are filled with pronouns and the like. It's... pretty awful all around. In fact I'm wondering if Larian put so much of it in there to the point of ridiculousness to make a point. All that said, they've done so much better at nearly everything than any AAA company I can think of for a long time. I've had 3 games, only one of which got to Act 3. (Got disgusted at the Message in Act 3 PLUS... it's kind of a busy Act. The others were more relaxed somehow.) In each of my 3 games, something totally different happened at nearly every spot. They've done a great job despite some of the woke messaging. I really think AAA games are over. It's the smaller devs like Larian (despite the woke) that are going to produce interesting stuff going forward.

BG3 needs mods like everything else. Ugly characters (Western devs strike again. But there are mods!) Oversexed followers. And I thought picking locks to earn love was bad. (Multiple mods help here!) Bad camera controls. (A mod fixes this fortunately.) And the in your face The Message™ which really only starts ramping into full gear in Act 3. (Unbelievably there is a mod for this, but don't look for it on the Nexus. ) I keep hearing that Larian (devs of BG3) tend to make a sort of director's cut usually a year or so after they release a game. So probably it's best to wait longer. They are still doing updates, fixing bugs, and amazingly adding content.

Went into that thinking "Hey I love these conspiracy theory things. I hope it has flat earth stuff. So fun!" Came out going "Oh my God...." I didn't need another reason for NOT buying internet of things stuff but thanks anyway!

Heh, couldn't have happened to a "nicer" city.

Not having an insufferable bitch as your leading actress is always a plus as well. That Zugler whatever thing is so disgusting to me now, I can't even be bothered to listen in on her apology tour. I'm sure she's done a PR approved 180 and now loves the original though.

I can't claim credit for this, but a friend of mine used that AI song maker to produce... this:
-
On the plus side, there's a better mod that wipes out just about everything woke which includes the mod they killed.

https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/4799?tab=description EDIT: Right no embeds. This is a mod that turns the butch Aasimar into a guy. The comments are a riot. Of course nothing like this happened with the mod turning that gay vampire into a girl. (That I know of at least.)

Wait a second.... the idiots that made Skyrim and Oblivion crap thought Starfield was too crap?
-
That is some major big time irony getting lectured on "public order and morality" by a morally bankrupt corporation.
-
Yeah I don't think so. Was talking about this earlier today elsewhere. I waited a long time to go Skyrim and a really long time to try FO4. I still followed the mods on both those games long before I ever considered playing. Starfield? I haven't bothered to check and have no interest in doing so. Todd's failure is complete. I'm not ever playing this shipwreck.

This is random but I've noticed after some years away from the US when I run into present day American tourists... I kind of have this initial reaction:
-
It might help if she was actually attractive. Geez, standards are dropping out there across the pond!
-
I'm just stunned that the guy kept saying melee in FO4 was -better-.
-
The best part of Starfield that I'm enjoying is how the face modelling is regressing. We're supposedly in 2023 with crap potato head faces! And there actually people defending this crap. (Likely paid like a couple modders I could name. AHEM.) Give The Todd a medal!

The commentary on the kids alone! And it's true. The kids in Beth games all look like they have ancient heads on kid's bodies. Plus they never act like kids.
-
Yeah the Representation Agenda™ was way overboard. Like in most stuff now. Although on the funny side, since they are so hideously ugly it's kind of going so far over it's almost based. Are they really saying non-europeans are troll-like with those face models??
-
I was expecting: Hideous faces, especially for women. (Can't have attractive women these days. All women must be ugly and probably fat.) Garbage character animations. Pathetic combat. A main plot that was so infantile I'd ignore it from the start. And of course bugs galore and broken side quests, etc etc. As per usual. I wasn't exactly expecting everything else to be so atrociously ugly. I figured they'd at least make some interesting alien terrains. Especially given they could just copy the look of stuff No Man's Sky already came up with. Instead we get a weird FO4 type feel with washed out colors and plain butt ugly landscapes. Oh joy, let me run around in a barren wasteland of ugly. I'm not a big fan of NMS, but just seeing the boring crap planets in this... makes me actually want to go back and play NMS. At least you could get some color there! As such, got to give The Todd props! He managed to surprise me... by it being even worse than I expected.
-
And I said I'd wait a year!? So let's just go over a minor list here of what's needed.... Face/NPC makeovers. Body replacers. Clothing/Armor replacers. Animation replacers. Ship replacers. AI replacers. A non-washed out non-freaking-ugly-as-hell color palette replacer. I'm going with the HELL NO option I think. This game isn't even worth a .

I'll consider.... "buying" it about a year after release. Provided the modding community is strong. I think it might take what's left of FO4 (and it's not much) as the setting is a little better. Seemingly. I mean, it's Bethsoft so we can expect if it's possible to screw up, they'll manage. I fully expect horrifying bugs, an infantile to actually insulting "plot", and probably terrible gameplay. All of which will need fixing with ... STSE?

They also don't complain when you have them shoot mom for complaining about insane school curriculum. It's a win-win all around. For them.

I love this part: "Computers running these operating systems, when connected to the internet, are susceptible to new malware and other exploits..." Yeah, just like the new ones then. And yeah a refund should absolutely be the first thing they offer. But oh no, you can't have a refund for something you paid for that we are arbitrarily saying you can't play now.

THE COMMENTS. I'm dying here. Some quickie highlights: "I wanted to get the shirt in "fit type" refrigerator but was only able to choose between "men and women". I chose the fit type "women" even though I identify as a refrigerator with occasional stainless steel microwave tendencies." "I did not find my size in Apache Helicopter." "This shirt is stunning and brave."

I just want to congratulate you for not playing with the idiot system and going your own way on this garbage. I still remember when you bought a game, you BOUGHT a game. None of this launcher nonsense that sucks up resources and forces you to be online to even play an offline game. Though I'm not aware of any cases with games, I have had books and a couple movies I "bought" disappear because the tech overlords thought we shouldn't have them anymore. (I have copies still of course.) As for the , it is a return to simpler times. Case in point: I own a game called Surviving the Aftermath. (Middling game. Don't recommend it unless you're extremely into post apocalypse.) The caveat: it's on Epic. (And no I didn't buy it on Epic, one of those buy this, get that free deals. ) I recently moved hard drives and just did not feel like installing that crap just for one game I don't play much. Went , works great! No launcher. No Epic. No hassle. To top it off, the has a great support forum that doesn't require a support ticket the devs won't ever answer. When the thieves erm.. socioeconomically disadvantaged () offer a better experience, there is something very very wrong with the industry. We really don't buy games anymore we pay for the privilege of playing them. Until you say something naughty, have an original thought, or they just decide you can't play it anymore. What a world.
