  3. I think of how many skills my Generation (Gen X) lost that were everyday skills my Grandparents had. I know grown ass men who can't change a flat tire, for example. While some skills are obviously long outdated and unnecessary unless you want to go camping in the backcountry, I still use everyday skills that kids I know under 30 have absolutely no idea existed. For example, I tend to pay in cash, mostly because I am a grumpy, paranoid old prick who doesn't like corporations tracking my spending. I can't help but smirk when the kid behind the counter gets all nervous when I hand him cash and he suddenly has to compute change. I'm not going to pretend that I don't Google information all the time and that I certainly use Tech but I see it as just another tool in the box. On the other hand, I am alarmed at how fucking stupid my 21-year-old niece is. She's helpless without Google.

  4. Funny how half a year changes things. I'm definitely switching to Linux for the new computer. Enough is enough. And I don't even use full windows, I'm always on the LTSC variety.

  5. I knew it. I just didn't think I'd see it so soon. Literally a surprising percentage of our world that cannot (and absolutely refuses to try) to think for themselves. Thank you ChatGPT. Oh, and all that's left is mariage of A.I. "sexbots" to some really hot chassis already available. Now that part I can get behind, lol. Not as a replacement mind you. Just for "experimentation" purposes only. Really!!

  7. What Ya' Playin' ? I'm starting this thread so that people can tell others what they are currently playing. Perhaps, even join an online game with someone else if they desire. Discuss said game that is being played (or popular) The key concept is what you are currently playing. This will change of course over time. This thread is also not intended for a review of the game beyond some basics. For a real and proper review of a game, please feel free to create a post on said game, unless one is already created for that game. PLEASE, IF THERE IS ANY INFORMATION ON ACTUAL GAME PLAY OR CHOICES, PLACE THESE IN A SPOILER SO AS TO NOT SPOIL THE GAME FOR OTHERS. For those that are new and don't know. Push the icon of an eye, then place your comments or other things inside the box that is created. Thank You.

  11. Generally ther is a lot of support for Linux on the web. There are forums you can join with people with way more experience than you have and lots of documentaiton. I'd advise you to stick with Debian based systems as generally that is refered to more im my experience. Also, keep in mind that just because there is support the support might be complex and beyond your ability to do. I'd also advise to have a good back up of your Home folder (personal data) and a thumb drive ready to reinstall expecially when you first start. Or even better if you have a strong machine just use a VM. You can snapshot it easily and restore with most anything that happens beyond your control. You can also install different versions of Linux like Mint or Unbuntu or Kubuntu etc. and learn and experience it . Find what you like which destop you want (KDE, plasma etc.) for your LInux. One breaks just move to the other one. Nuke and resintall. One thing ... in general,.. installing LInux is really quick especially if you are willing to use simple commands. sudo apt update sudo apt upgrade sudo apt autoclean Debian system commands to start with. It will download everything and keep it fresh. Also, unlike Windoze, I have some updates waiting to be installed for over a week. I CHOOSE when I want to install it not the OS. Also generally very few pop ups and interruptions. I was playing a game and Windows decided it was the perfect time to pop up a notification in the middle of my full screen game when I was right in the middle of a difficlut boss. What the fuck Microsoft? Seriously ? Nobody thought that maybe perhaps when specific types of programs are running you wouldn't pop up some bullshit notification. I couldn't access it and it was 4 times larger than the notification on my desktop without the game runniing. I had to alt tab out of the game to shut that bullshit down. Linux doesn't do that. That alone is worth the price of admission.

  12. Not sure where else to put this. So.. in case anyone besides myself ever wondered how hard it is to manufacture the very latest chips- here's your answer. Every minute detail of the environment and the level of precision needed are mind blowing to say the least. Not to mention the costs.

  13. She will have her laugh as well. Her Cackles. Holy crap her laugh. She didn't't have the skill. He looked like a deer with their eyes in bright headlights anytime she was asked any serious question. Her debates was redundant and often times irrelevant. The longer she went, the worse she did. The only thing her campaign did was make those that didn't doubt the previous election start to doubt the previous election and wonder where all those votes for Biden came from. Some locations had more votes last election than they had people. How did that happen The Democrats stated that the Republicans were running fradulant elections. However, this time they were very strict. Kicked out thousands of illegal people allowed to vote. Dead people, people that weren't citizens and people that didn't even live there People that didn't have any right to vote. Then they reported the results. showing last vs now. with total people and several of the Democratic places had total less voters and lost to the Republicans. Some state they were removing the Democrats or others illegally. However, that is a serious charge. That never was proven. A Lie There isn't anyone in the Democratic membership that has any quality or IMO ability to run against even a lower rung Republican. Much less soeone with some experience and abilty. They will loose as it is now. They will loose badly.

  15. I meant that it should be free. Not paid. AS for Linux, There is no excuse not to start. You can use: 1. VM. Safe and effective. Need some added ram, but not as much as if you ran a Windows OS. 2. Dual boot (ideally with a second drive. Windows can fuck up the bootloader and make you have troubles) 3. Install Linux and then use Windows in a VM and "pass-through" the hardware such as graphics card, SSD hard drive, sound etc. 4. Dedicated Linux machine and dedicated windows (in this case gaming ) machine. Hardware to run most Linux is cheap. You don't need a lot. If you have an old Windows 10 machine, chances are it is plenty powerful enough to run most Linux OSs. 1. The first step is great for a noob. You can't screw up things badly. Worst case, delete the VM and reinstall it. If you have snapshots enabled. You can restore to the previous snapshot. 2. Is great for someone that is able and enjoys using Linux every day while still having full power when desired for either operating system. Drawback, you have to reboot the machine to get access to the other OS. Great if you only use Windows for gaming. When you finish your work and such on Linux, reboot to Windoze and have a fun time playing a game. Boot back to Linux to do more work. A second drive is easier to set up. Follow the many YouTube tutorials regarding this. This is great for someone that is more comfortable with Linux 3. You can install Linux in a powerful main machine and then install Windoze of your choice (or multiple ones) in a VM and pass-through the hardware needed to play the games. Graphics card, hard drive, sound etc. Then you can use both. Most VM have snapshots so you can create a snapshot and when something is done by Microsoft that borks the OS you can restore. NO need to image the OS or other crap. 4. This is for more power users. People that want 100% of the power for every second. "I h ave the power" as He Man states. This is two separate machines which one is pure Windows and the other is Pure Linux. This is also good as you will be able to keep everything 100% separate with no doubts (unless you share a central folder and access it from both machines. A "server" which is a different conversation which isn't covered here. TL;DR Install a Linux on your main machine in a VM to start. Get started and used to the way Linux does things. Commands etc. Then you can move later when you are more comfortable. I have a Linux, Chromebook, Windows gaming machine, Mac, (outdated not supported working on it likely will have Linux with KDE and GUI that looks like Mac .. Why? Because Why not? lol. Finally, a second Windows 11 machine so I can use it for some BS I don't want to do on my Gaming Machine. Each tool has its own purpose. Chromebook = Google ecosystem, Linux, main work including moderation and gaming sites., Windows gaming. = Duh, Windows gaming, Mac, = experimentation perhaps force an update to current Mac Os or Linux. A project machine, finally Windows 11 laptop. = for various bullshit that I don't care about but need Windows for. Shareware (questionable software etc.) Every one of thes machines besides the Windows 11 gaming machine was less than 200 dollars. One of them was less than 40 dollars to buy. YOu can get simple usable hardware to start linux (when you are ready) No reason to not do it.

  17. They do. But they don't make it apparent and you have to pay for it. BTW, I read recently that security updates will continue through 2028. Not sure if that's true or not. Just won't see any new features and whatnot. I've considered a Linux alternative many times. But it's hard enough to mod some games on Win OS already and I hate the idea of a lot of extra work.

  18. Honestly I hope that is the case. I hope that they start creating decent, reasonable games going forward and we can look at the past several years as the past. nightmare, it was never to happen again.

  19. Since it's supposed to be relasing next year, they have little time to make drastic changes depending what quarter they plan to release it. From my experience, it does need some minor improvements. Driving the buggy and the hardsteering. recoil on the firearms, hit animation on enemies. Everything else seems fine. Other than my framerate and lag. But that's because I need to upgrade my GPU. Or I could lower the settings.

  20. Bazzite is cool as the experts set up a gaming Linux for you. You don't need to do much if anything to get it going. The downside is the instructions you might see for Linux won't work for it as it is an immutable OS. There are some extra hoops you need to jump through to get something that requires more access than a Flatpak can. (Sandboxed program. Same as Snaps found on Ubuntu as far as sandboxing goes. Different direction and implementation, but for the user it is basically the same) You want to download something and have it have all the gaming tools you want. The gaming tools that are stable and available set up to be as stable as humanly possible. Bazzite has it. It also protects the OS from being harmed. It is an "Image" which means if you have something not work or something isn't comparable, you can reboot into the previous image that worked and get back to work or play. Some say Immutable OS's (Linux) are the wave of the future. Since you are going to be some time before pulling the trigger, check that out. You can also possibly depend on your setup. Install another drive and run Linux on it and still have your windows available (dual boot)

  21. It helps that I don't care a bit about online games. I'm a single player gamer anyway (for the most part). Half the time when I want to do MP stuff it doesn't work out anyway like with Total War: Warhammer III or whatever number it is. And that has a linux version anyway. Even Stellaris doesn't work well in MP now on YOUR OWN network, let alone the net. It's madness. I'll definitely drop back and outline what I decided on as well as the setup. Probably won't get it till mid-next year anyway. LTSC is basically windows minus the crap. Mostly used for kiosks and the like though I've been using it for a long time now. As such WIn10 LTSC doesn't actually end till 2027 I believe. So I'm in no particular rush. There is a Win11 LTSC coming (or maybe out already not sure), I'm just done with windows completely. It's time to move on. When I may need an ad-blocker for damn Explorer (or it's even being discussed) it's time to get the hell out. EDIT: I haven't heard of Bazzite before so I'll be sure to check that out, thanks!

  22. There are alot of great demos that come out. Then when they release the game it is ass. They made so many changes that it isn't anything like the demo. This is the most stupid thing IMO. You have people that love the demo and like what you are saying then change it? I hope this isn't the case with this game. I wasn't so thrilled with Rage I but it was a competent game. I can't remember any major problems or issues.

  24. Yes, please do. You can always run a Windows VM in Linux for some simple stuff if you needed it. (NOt sure what a LTSC variety is) In some cases and setups and hardware etc. you can even pass through a graphics card to the Linux Host and play full windows game if that is needed. There are lots of things to do. However it does get a bit complex when you start to do these things. You can try Bazzite https://bazzite.gg/ It is an inmmutable OS meaning you can't bork your install. It uses flatpacks to keep things pretty much sandboxed. It has all the tools and toys for gaming. Unfortunatly the main thing that happens is you can't play online windows games with LInux. Not becuase it can't be done but becuase the producers of the anticheat and such tools don't make a linux version. Chime back here with what you ended up with. If you are stlil afraid you can run linux inside a windows OS to get your feet wet. You can also install mutiple Linux distros to see how you like it. Like Cinimom GUI or KDE? you can find that out without commitment. Well full committment of a install on your machine. VMs also often have snapshots!

  25. New idea: You receive a quest from a powerful wizard who cured a master vampire of vampirism. The problem is that he still has the power to enthrall people, and he has created a small harem of female servants with his power. Your job is to kill him and free the women. If you're playing as a man, it's a simple quest: kill him, get a cool two-handed sword, and go back to killing dragons. If you're playing as a woman, you'll be enthralled, and that's where the fun begins. Due to your dragon blood, you randomly snap out of the charm, which gives you an opportunity to permanently break the mental hold he has on you with the help of the wizard who gave you the quest. However, your freedom from the vampire is temporary, and you will do quests for him while under his spell. Actually, you will be doing quests for both sides, and if you complete one side's quests before the other's, you may free yourself or become permanently enthralled by your new master.

  27. Quick tip: if you need to use the Steam console with Bottles, add steam.exe (if it's not there already) to your program shortcuts. Click the vertical ellipses on the right to show the options menu, then click 'Change launch options'. There is a field called 'Command Arguments'; enter -console and save. The next time you launch Steam with your Bottle, the console will appear in your Steam menu. Now that I have figured this out, I can downgrade Fallout 4.

  29. There is new bullshit happeing now. I am getting a warning about windoze being outdated and giving a countdown. Now if that happened on the actual windoze computer that would be one thing but it is happening on a windoze 11 computer. A WINDOWS 11 computer. Now lets fill in some background. This is a work computer. At work they have NO WINDOWS 10 MACHINES. Get that. So it can't be that they are seeing my computer and knowing there is a windows 10 machine on the system. There aren't any. I had to shut that down mutiple times today when I opened anything related to microsoft. (I believe mostly Outlook) for work. A blue bar across the top that messes with the information and other stuff. You have to address it if you want full control and get to business. Seriously, they need to go out of business and their source code released so that other operatiing systems that respect people can access it and make it compatable for older windoze software.

  33. This is the first reload of my FemmeBots, here at NSFW, and includes original (slightly edited) text. Some things have changed as development of FemmeBots has continued since she first was uploaded, but the basics remain relevent, and will answer just about any questions you may have. I include the edited copy here, and the original is included with the zip file. LS_FemmeBot.zip final FemmeBot text.txt The FemmeBot!!!!! LadySmoks Modeling, in co-operation with Landgraab Industries' "Super Secret Mad Science Division" has developed a fully functional Plumbot PLEASURE model!!!!! I use a lot of sliders to adjust FemmeBot (and Sim) appearance! Check out sliders at Shock & Shame, OneEuroMutt and Jonha @MTS Early head models had eyelashes attached... newer heads use 3d eyelashes by S-Club. Also here, and sliders to adjust are here. The spoiler contains original (slightly edited) text from original FemmeBot upload, with assembly and operating instructions... There is a lot to read here, and for good reason! I am also including a copy of this text in the download, so you can read it offline. FemmeBot Heads (so far) LS_FemmeBot Cherry2000 Head X1.zip LS_FemmeBot Cherry2000 Head X2.zip LS_FemmeBot V5000 Head.zip These are the FemmeBot replacement heads (so far). As development had continued (and still continues) since the original FemmeBot, the X1 and X2 heads were made using simskin shader. X1 has 2 options, with or without scalp hair overlay, black pupils and 4 color channels for skin tone, eyebrows/ scalp hair, eyes and lips. X2 has 4 options, 2 for each pupil option, blue or red "cameras". V5000 head has 4 color channels for eyes, skin tone, lips and tattoo markings, and uses plumbot shader. 3 "tattoo" patterns are from a set by Analect @MTS. Part of the continuing development was finding that S-Club eyelashes found in either make up, or as accessory, work on FemmeBots. This is because they are not an overlay, but a meshed part, so these heads do not have built in EA eyelashes. S-Club eyelashes @TSR. Also recommend the S-Club eyelash sliders to better position them. To acheive a more seamless waist, I combine top and bottom into one part, and list it in "Body" section. This absolutely requires the "No Bottom" part, or the game will automatically apply a random EA bot bottom. "No Hair" is simply an option that allows bald bots, if that is what you wish. FemmeBot M-Cekc (Alice) LS_FemmeBot Model M-CEKC.zip Based on EA EP11 Future Suit and Black Widow boots by Ms Blue @TSR.
