  1. Don't let them fool you, they are no children, but immortal beings whose sole purpose is to annoy you... "Another wanderer, here to lick my father's boots!", "I work with my mother to sell fruits and vegetables", "What're you lookin' at? I'm not afraid of you, ya know. Even if you are my elder"... No one can give birth to those evil manipulative beings, they can only be adopted, like a pet... Don't know why anyone would want to do that...

Just a few hours ago I was playing Fallout 2 and discovered a new method of getting rid of those pesky pickpocket kids in the Den with zero consequences... I just let them steal my explosives... which, for some reason, happen to be armed... 😈

I wouldn't be surprised if Bethesda Games Studio regrets making an online game. Since they are the type who does minimal patches and proceeds to ignore the remaining bugs and the bugs that have infiltrated their official patches. Their ongoing of having to address these bugs is going to irritate them.

You are right but I think this is a new team of developers dedicated to this game and if they fail to fix this mess and make some money for Zenimax, they'll possibly end up "Telltaled".

Them 60USD was so worth the BETA. How could I have not jumped in on some of them goodies.. 🙄

These idiots seem quite happy to pay Bethesda to do their job for them. I used to think that paying a company to become a product is the lowest point one could fall, looks like I was wrong...

While I agree with him on Zelda's stupid weapon degradation system and Detroit's cancerous "battle with the controller to do a simple thing", complaining about realism in actions and animations of RDR2 is a bit ridiculous and definitely NOT a valid point of criticism. It's kind of like complaining about a hearty well-prepared meal, because you have no time to eat it... If you think you're "wasting your time" while doing certain things in a game... how about not playing it at all, after all, playing games is a waste of time anyway...

I understand why it's coming from this guy, who, by the way, looks like someone who'd rather have fast-food or a bowl of cereal instead, because as a game reviewer, he's probably played way too many worthless games and he just wants the games to be to the point and to end as quickly as possible. And, as he also seems to play games on consoles, even on handheld ones, such as Nintendo, he also seems to have the mindset that makes him think that all games should be "game like"...

Honestly, by this logic, we should all be playing the 2D games of the early 80's now, because they'd load much faster and would end much quicker, and none of the "3D makeup" is necessary to create a fun game, right? Which also suggests, all those graphical enhancements in RDR2 were also a waste of time, because there's no difference between the smoke in that Monty Python movie and say, the "volumetric clouds" in RDR2... as they don't contribute to the "fun" in any tangible way at all...

None of his criticism about the realism in RDR2 makes any sense to me, besides this game has much more serious issues as a "game", which he failed to address in his videos. It's really difficult for me to call RDR2 a "game", because it's not really an experience that the player creates himself, instead, it's an experience crafted for the player beforehand, much like a movie. As I said, I've been watching three different LPs and so far they've all played pretty much the same, except the order of missions. The game is full of unavoidable scripted events, and even the ending seems pretty much the same, no matter how you played the so called "game"...

Are they talking about this ignorant bullshit on Nexus or LL?  I can't be assed to search.

Don't know the Nexus but there's nothing on LL about this particular video. All I've seen in terms of criticism was a bunch of messages on NMA. Don't go and read the comments on BGS twitter account, that would probably shorten your life a couple of years.

There needs to be a goddamned LAW to where if someone fucks up an IP people love they need to be stripped of all rights to it.

Indeed. They are quite literally showing the middle finger to the creators of the Fallout IP and the fans of the older Fallout games.

If someone wanted to mock FO76, this would be an appropriate video to show, what a bunch of retards...

  8. This is definitely the thread where this piece of shit belongs to, one of the cringiest things I've ever seen lately...

I wouldn't be able to find a better evidence to show you how Bethesda sees Fallout... No longer a horrible post-apocalyptic world, it's an amusement park where you shoot things and have fun... Yeah, have fun with FO5...

  9. Part 4: Rehash Central (starts at 51:50) is especially relevant in terms of Bethesda reusing elements from older titles for no good reason, which obviously started with Fallout 3 (e.g. Super Mutants, the Enclave, BoS, GECK etc). I think their idea was or is "we paid millions to buy the IP, so we should reuse every goddamn thing in it, regardless of what their role or purpose was".

1:19:00 Yup, the best way to have fun with any Bethesda game is to avoid the story.

Whenever you stumble upon a Fallout or TES video and it has 1k+ down votes, you bet your ass it's going to be a good video.

Yup, sounds pretty accurate. Here's one...

  11. It sounds like FO76 developers randomly pick up things from older titles as if they were all one game and took place at the same time, ignoring their history and connections to other things. Almost as if they've never played any Fallout game before and they've been given a catalogue of "things in Fallout" and they try to make a game out of it. Which was actually pretty much the case for FO4 as well.

I believe I've already posted this video but this guy is pretty much dead on about Bethesda's approach to Fallout. They took every superficial element of the originals but left out the soul and atmosphere. FNV tried to mod them back in to an extend, they even used the music of the originals and it was relatively successful, but you could still see Bethesda under the hood. Anyway, if you've never played the originals and never will, you can at least listen to the soundtrack and can easily see how different the mood in those games were. No matter what Bethesda fanboys claim their Fallout games aren't Fallout.

  12.

Not that I'm particularly interested in it as a console only game, but I like the graphics, environments and some of the gameplay features. Been watching several different LP's of it. It seems a very story oriented game and all LPs pretty much played the same, even the brawl at the bar was pretty much identical in all three LP's. Needless to say, I got bored pretty quickly. Some people are already mad about this game for some reason, to me it's clearly a "meh", but I thought people who enjoyed playing The Witcher series might like to give it a try, assuming they have a console of course. I think Bethesda will probably go bankrupt soon unless they change that shitty old engine of theirs, because the competition already seems years ahead of them.

    Not to mention... #ForeverBeta 🤣

It's an incompetent developer who try to do less and less work with each new game. I remember certain people arguing with me on LL, claiming that there was no "dumbing down" in Elder Scroll series. I just watched an interview with one of the creators of the ES who worked on Arena, Daggerfall and Morrorwind, and even he confesses that the series got dumbed down in time... They are so bloody incompetent they couldn't even find an original name for their game editor and had to steal the name GECK: Garden of Eden Creation Kit (which is now just Creation Kit) from Fallout 2...

BTW, if you hate the idea of "games as a service", keep in mind that it's exactly what Microsoft wants to do with Windows, starting with 10.

  14. Keep seeing Millenial girls, such as this one, who complain about having to shave their body hair and blaming men for it, as if men are forcing them to do it... This must be a new trend among them. Well, ladies, the species you belong to is a product of ancestors who preferred partners with thinner body hair and that's why you don't look like a chimp today... well, at least in terms of the amount of body hair anyway... But I agree with you, you really should stop shaving/waxing your body hair, your mustache, your unibrow, and you should also stop doing make up, dying your hair and all the other things you do to deceive men. Because you are slowing down the evolution by sexual selection, you may even be reversing it without knowing... I honestly wouldn't want the human race to turn into hairy chimps again. I bet chimps would have a good laugh if we did...

  15. @Kendo 2  The reason why I came here was to avoid this sort confrontations altogether, especially for something as pointless as this. There's obviously a misunderstanding going on, maybe I wasn't clear enough, but I really don't want to deal with a person who replies with a wall of insults. I really don't need this. Will probably delete my account and move on if I can figure out how.

The start was you asking what they were lying about.. I explained it.. you were the one that brought legal and economy and all sorts of other shit. You were the one that brought other shit into the equation.. All I fucking wanted to do was answer your simple fucking question. Jesus Christ! WTF... LOL

The capture above is all I was trying to explain after YOU ASKED...  you were the one that brought laws and shit into the equation.  You were the one that went full on Psycho on the article linked about shit wasn't even asked above. About gambling, then moving into governments, European countries and USA and all that shit.  I'd continue but I don't think this forum has enough space on a single page to post responses to all the random shit brought into this simple question posted in the question above. "What exactly are those companies hiding or lying about?  It might break the site.

It was after you tried to correct me for no reason, you stupid little fuck. Do you see anything about your "EA lying" bullshit in the three posts that precede yours? No. Because I was arguing about greedy practices, legality of gambling and capitalism. Did anyone ask your idea about what "the real problem" was? No. When you brought that up, I asked about what they were lying about and you posted an article and I said that they could do it as long as it was legal, you of course didn't get it and kept babbling about it while mixing it up with legal actions about gambling, which at that point were totally unrelated. Yeah, really, WHAT THE FUCK?

I've tried to kept it as civil as possible, but I'm tired of your bullshit, your patronizing tone, stupid accusations and constant insults, so I've given up. I don't know what you think you'll gain with all this bullshit you've posted on a forum with less than a handful of people posting, but I don't need it. Find yourself another Millenial of your age and argue with him instead.

    I said.

Is English you second language?  If not you are a troll by ignoring the rest of the statement.. THAT THEY HID THE FACT!  Game companies make games for gambling... they do it all the time, there are laws on the books for that. They lied. They lied so that they can sell their games to a selected market.  They can create gambling games... not the issue. Lying is the issue. That is the meaning of the above statement. (selective interpretation Troll action on your part. Unless English is your second language. )

is this reasonable? Is this something that a normal person would expect from a game? Doubt it... It is obvious to me and most other "sensible people" that this isn't reasonable. Reasonable is an objective definition when most of those that play the game state it isn't a reasonable expectation? Answer.. no, it is a commonly held belief...  ;)  Troll comment from you.

4500 hours or $2000 dollars to play the game you spent $60 to $80 or more to buy in the first place. That is a very reasonable expectation. Yea, right... what universe are you from? Not from any I am aware of.

One has nothing to do with the other, at least not in this case. EA lied, omitted info, twisted facts, exploited the system whatever you want to call it to get their games into the hands of minors where in some countries that is called illegal when you place a game of chance which require real money in the hands of a minor.  It is violation of laws... Again, companies are welcome to create products.. and sell them (Capitalism) just they have to follow the laws of the land.

English is my third language and I was hoping that you were done arguing with me...

This is the EA thread and there are multiple different issues that have been discussed through the pages about their bad practices, but on the very page in which you claimed that the loot-boxes and gambling "wasn't the real issue", there are two videos about that issue discussing it and you only focus on one of the issues and keep saying that they lied and hid things about how the micro-transactions and unlocking things worked in a particular game. The question is simple... Can you or anyone else take a legal action against them for that? No? Then the case is closed.

Also most countries today (including US) is a varied mixture of Socialist and Capitalist societies. (Welfare isn't part of a true Capitalist society framework)

Hate to burst your bubble .. but the US has been doing the very same thing. They also have a bit of socialism.. (Welfare, Healthcare, public aid etc etc as well as other features)  USA hasn't has true Capitalism since before the Great Depression.

Yes, I'm fully aware that the US and many European countries have mixed economies. All I've said is that you can't defend capitalism while criticizing greedy, exploitative business practices. Was it really all that difficult to understand?

Another Troll comment... Turned to Legal when we were discussing Hiding or lying.. Magically changing the subjects.

No you are a troll for changing the reason for the original conversation. for those that have short memories.

"I don't understand what you're talking about therefore you are a troll"... Right...

    11 hours ago, ritualclarity said:

You are the one that changed the conversation mid way so that you can "win" the conversation or continue being a Troll. The original conversation was about lying and hiding not legal rules and government economies.

You are also the one that "don't even try to understand what I'm arguing about, don't know why but happens with you all the time. " which is the reason I stated this in the first place. You've done it here and on LL and had many issues with people on both sites like this occurrence .. but that means it has to be "their" issue.  yea right...

You're the one who tried to correct something which you didn't even understand, and now accusing me of changing the topic of the discussion while it was you who did it in the first place by changing the topic into "lying, hiding", while my post was about "legal rules and government economies" and then jumped into a pointless discussion with me.

    Spoiler

When I first came here I couldn't remember why you were in my ignore list back on LL, and now I know. As they say, history repeats itself...

  18. 1 hour ago, ritualclarity said:

You missed my reason for the quote... ;)  Also that article wasn't about the gambling. I was using it for the fact that it was unreasonable and forces use of their loot boxes for any reasonable play. I even went ahead and explained the issue. The issue that is mentioned in other articles...

The first part of the article was about loot-boxes and gambling, which you tried to dismiss, the rest is basically complaining about a product, which has nothing to do with what I'm arguing about. Complaining about a video game, because it's either too expensive to obtain in-game items or it takes extremely long to unlock things is very childish, you can simply say that it's a shit game and never buy it. The practice may be despicable but there's absolutely nothing illegal about it. In the end, they've changed the game and fixed those issues, not because it was illegal, but because they wanted to sell the product.

    1 hour ago, ritualclarity said:

Yes, European countries have stricter consumer laws.. Your point.. just because it is legal in one country doesn't mean it isn't miss representing the product in other countries.  They misrepresented their product... I never said to which country... Seriously... you are trolling me now.

It's the country's laws what dictate a person or a company can or cannot do, if it's legal, then they can do it. I'm the one who's "trolling" for just stating an obvious fact?

The relation between capitalism, so called free market and shady, anti-consumer business practices is, which you apparently fail to realize, when you want "government hand" to regulate the "free market" to protect consumers, you basically admit the fact that the "free market" doesn't really work as well as you thought and it needs a pinch of socialism to make things right, which is what those European countries have been doing.

    1 hour ago, ritualclarity said:

I am done discussing this. The info is there. You can read (as well as others) and believe what you want to believe.

Fine with me, because you don't even bother to read the article you post, you don't even try to understand what I'm arguing about, don't know why but happens with you all the time.

Didn't see this or others mentinoing the same content?

If you call having to spend 4500 hours to unlock everything or spending 2000 dollars to short cut your way to get the most desirable "Heros" then the issues and debate is a moot one for you. Add the fact you can't just "BUY" points to the hero of your choice... you have to play a "game" where you have a "chance" (gambling) to win what you need to build your game up and hopefully get toward the hero or equipment you want.

The issue isn't against Capitalism.. it is against their failure to properly disclose the fact they were introducing gambling, Creating a system that would take you 4500 hours to accomplish and complete or get what you want.. (grind on the extreme) and then when confronted .. make the worlds worst most down voted Redit post in history.

You said gambling wasn't the real issue in your previous message, yet the article you've linked clearly states otherwise in its very first paragraph...

    Quote

The most prominent controversy in gaming lately has been the inclusion of loot boxes and microtransactions in games. Several countries have looked into categorizing the purchasable crates that contain random items as gambling. In the US, the ESRB recently ruled that they are not gambling because the player still receives something of value from the purchase even if the item is a duplicate of little value to them.

Some European countries have demanded removal of certain features from certain games as they consider loot-boxes as gambling and this is the only "legal" issue here. As the paragraph above also states that loot-boxes and micro-transactions are not considered as gambling by ESRB in the US, they are under no obligation to explicitly state anything else other than the game's ESRB rating. No matter what you think of the issue, they clearly have no reason to lie about the nature of their games or hide anything about them. These may be infuriatingly greedy business practices, but there's absolutely nothing illegal about them, not yet anyway, at least not in the US and in many other countries.

And honestly, people may complain about a game being extremely grindy, but all they have to do is not to buy the game if they don't like it.
