bethesda Bethesda announces "Creation Club" (Paid Mods)
Kendo 2 replied to Doublezero's topic in Gaming Discussions
Yeah, saw that earlier today. Skyrim Survival Mode: Let's steal Frostfall, INeeds and Campfires and put them all into one mod and then pretend it's Bethesda IP...and never acknowledge the real mod authors or the original work. I'd like to see Pete Hines double-speak and weasel his way out of giving a valid explanation for that shit. AND Bethesda already broke its own 'rules' about not taking other people's work and uploading it to the Creation Club, or the rule about a mod being released for free and then uploaded to the Creation Club. Skyrim Survival Mode is just that. Bethesda didn't come up with the ideas and scripting, they stole them. I know enough about Skyrim papyrus scripting to understand there is only ONE ROUTE from point A to point B in a script. It's not like how things were for Oblivion, FO3 or NewVegas; where there were any number of scripting possibilties to accomplish the same result. Skyrim scripting doesn't work that way since there is only one way. I've been saying for long fucking time that Bethesda thinks they own anything made to work with their games, and Survival Mode on the Creation Club proves it. What's sad at this point isn't the Creation Club or the Bethesda fanboys still defending their bullshit. What's really SAD is Bethesda itself. -

bethesda Bethesda announces "Creation Club" (Paid Mods)

Bethesda is trying to say Survival mode is worth one quarter of the price of the base game. Think of 1/4th of everything in Skyrim. If aftermarket Survival Mode is equal to that amount of content it's ONE BAD BITCH. Too bad that isn't case...too bad for Bethesda anyway. People had better get used to the idea of a new $60 Bethesda game having $30 worth of content, because that's the market model they're aiming for. Single player action adventure games with a few RPG elements and LOTS of 'dlc' microtransactions. I guess MMO style loot boxes are next. Note to Bethesda: YES, please do that too....you assholes. The thing is, their games aren't good enough to follow 'the money' like they want to. But at least we have their older games so we can reflect back on when Bethesda was a gaming company first and a greedy corporation second. -

And Bethesda breaks Skyrim64bit just like the did for FO4. Glad I never updated my somewhat reliable Skyrim32bit. -

The blonde is 'Cheryl' and she's still around as an NPC and preset. I couldn't bring myself to make her a futa/tranny/whatever. Unfortunately all of those old comics with Molina and Cheryl are gone. Between the move I did from Vista to Windows7 and a new computer those files were eaten along with a lot of NV content I had stored in the Steam/NV file folders. It was painful, to say the least.

Never have liked the Bethesda take on orcs BUT what you're working on is nice. I don't get the impression of the Nexus-waifu-cookie-cutter 'pretty orc'; more like 'she's the hottest broad in the strong hold' sort of thing. Then again I'm looking at the face from a human standard and not an Orc one. Bethesda Skyrim Orcs are one dimensional (fight/breed/Malacath/rinse-and-repeat). It is what it is.

Watched that video yesterday. It just made me sad.

My vote is to leave it in place. It isn't hurting anything and it's not being abused. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't know if that feature can be hidden or not. I'm on the Moderator control panel and I can't see anything about hiding it. DZ might be the only one who can enable/disable/install a widget like that.

I don't think anyone really cares about the rankings one way or another. Like RC said, they are meaningless BUT I think they should stay in place provided they are not listed on the main forum page. And it's not like the site is ran like an extension of social media with the fanboy cool kids and SJWs stroking their egos. IF that ever becomes a problem I'm sure DoubleZero will address it IF it happens.

bethesda Bethesda announces "Creation Club" (Paid Mods)

Being how I am (a dick) I decided to do some real time number crunching and analytics on Bethesda's performance. The litmus test I chose was STEAM since that's where the majority of people get Bethesda games and STEAM/Valves tracks users. Aaand here we go... Over the last 30 days: FO4 down -0.46% Skyrim down -7.57% New Vegas up +9.68% FO3 up +3.11% So, according to THE MARKET (not my spin on things, critical thinker 'hate', or any other excuse the fanboys at Nexus and LL want to pull out of their asses) FO4 is a SHIT GAME and has been tanking for over a year. And that was BEFORE the Creation Club, which was intended to give the game a longer life span...and make money with microtransactions in the process. The numbers for Skyrim aren't much better BUT that player base is holding somewhat steady at around 27,500 active players each month (over the last 6 months). What I find interesting is the renewed player base for New Vegas. Looking at the percentages, people have already turned their backs on FO4 and are returning to New Vegas (a game that's 7 yrs old and running on a dinosaur engine). That IS my spin on things since I'm not omniscient. My point is Bethesda is worrying about the wrong thing. The are trying to make money off of microtransactions for a game people aren't playing. And it won't be any different when they roll out the Creation Club for Skyrim64bit. No one's fucking playing it and that means modders aren't making content for it like they are for the 32bit version. I guess I need to dust off my unreleased NV/FO3 stuff and submit it....NAH. Fuck Bethesda. -
The left eats its own. Straight black men are the new 'white people' in the Oppression Olympics. Seems they have more 'privilege' than other blacks.

It must be Common Core Math.
