That's odd since there isn't any moderation here. We aren't the fucking thought police. Shit post, troll, do whatever the hell you want within the few rules we have. If you want to post something that might go outside of the rules there's the 'Cringe-worthy Internet' thread where everything (almost) is fair game. Don't look at this place like it's a Nexus or LL safespace. Treat it like Youtube/4Chan/pol/the rest of the fucking internet. Everyone here is on their own.

bethesda Bethesda announces "Creation Club" (Paid Mods)
Kendo 2 replied to Doublezero's topic in Gaming Discussions
Yeah, they changed the EULA for Skyrim32bit when they 'updated the game' for paid mods in 2015. Actually they didn't update 'the game'. They locked the STEAM_API.dll and that forced the game into safe mode unless you allowed the 'update'...that also amended the Skyrim EULA you originally agreed to when you installed their software the first time. They didn't give prior notice or allow people to refuse the update and uninstall the software and no longer use it. They broke the contact when they did that. RANT INCOMING!! -

Take ownership of folders in Windows I just did the common folder in the file path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common. You have to babysit the process since it might ask for validation for each folder in the common one. -

Ehem. So I start STEAM just now and it tries to install over 3mb of 'updates' to both New Vegas and Skyrim32bit. Funny, since there's NOTHING in those old-assed games that need to be updated. I do not have Skyrim64bit or FO4 installed. The good thing is I KNOW from past experience what Valve/Zenimax are capable of after they wrecked my original installation of Skyrim with the 'paid mods patch' from 2015. After they did that I made myself the administrator of the game folders in my steam directory. Now all I have to do is cancel their 'updates', rename a few folders and relaunch steam. It connects and then verifies my installation and THAT'S IT. Then I can exit steam and launch/play the games without issues...or their FUCKING BOGUS UPDATES. If anyone is concerned about their Skyrim SE or FO4 installs I suggest you block steam and make yourself the administrator of YOUR GAMES. The licenses are for THE GAME'S SOFTWARE. They are not blanket permission for Valve/Zenimax to install whatever-the-hell they want, whenever they want. -
bethesda Bethesda announces "Creation Club" (Paid Mods)

Yeah, I'd be very surprised if the Creation Club 'fails' at this point. Not because Bethesda has pumped so much money into it, but because if they ditch the Creation Club it will be the second failed attempt at monetizing mods. They aren't going to lose face and a third iteration would be a laughing stock, more so than the Creation Club is now. -

Look at the way Nexus, Lover's Lab and Steam are moderated. Why would Bethesda.net be any different? -

Glad I never 'upgraded' 32bitSkyrim to Special Edition. If they bloated FO4 then they'll do the same thing to 64bitSkyrim. Never had a reason to switch and now I REALLY DON'T. They can keep their extra gigs of content I'd never want or use. i guess I need to go into my Skyrim folders and deny Steam access like I did for New Vegas. They're done with the game so they have no reason to update it, now do they? -

I looked at the 'discussions' about the Creation Club at both Nexus and Lover's Lab. WHADDA WASTE OF FUCKING TIME. We've covered more ground with four pages than both of those sites have combined. The discussions on those sites can be summed up with a wet farting noise and somehow that would be more substantive than what is actually being said there. Welcome to WalMart. -

Even Dark0ne's fanboy Gopher is against this now. Anyway, everyone is missing the point of this Creation Club thing; tapping console users wallets with microtransactions. Using mods on consoles means no in-game achievements or trophies (they're disabled with mods installed). If consolers BUY mods from the Creation Club they get microtransactions (which we all know they're already used to anyway) AND achievements or trophies (which PC users couldn't give a flying fuck about). There's no appeal for anyone but console users. I read a few tweets in Bethesda's stream this morning and mostly it is 'fuck this' but OF COURSE the shill brigade is out in force to claim the Creation Club is awesome. I swear some of these people are being paid. The total lack of common sense is unfathomable. -

The Creation Club is NOT the game and you didn't agree to ANY Creation Club content being installed when you installed the game. It's not in the game's license and IF you installed the game around the same time I did (the week it was released) then the license I linked is the license you agreed to. -

I archived it the same day I installed the game. After what Bethesda did to me with the 'paid mods' forced update (violated their own license) I was determined to never let them fuck me again. -

Wagakki Band from Japan. Disclaimer: I am NOT a fan of Japan (aside from their electronics and sushi). I just think it's interesting to see/hear traditional instruments used in pop/rock music.

If Bethesda/Zenimax added a new exe that was forced with the update I can guaran-fucking-tee you they changed to EULA to reflect what they want for the Creation Club. They did the same thing when paid mods on Valve popped up and they updated 32bit Skyrim. The game refused to launch without the update and when you updated they added a new EULA to allow them to take mods and use them on the Valve store front. It's probably the same sort of deal but I really wouldn't know since I removed FO4 after one play-through. Fans want things to change? Stop buying fucking Bethesda games and tear their heads off on social media. BUT the blind Bethesda faithful deserves the shafting their getting, imo. The game company that made Oblivion and FO3 is dead, just like the carcass of the old Bioware is feeding the EA maggots. What we once loved an praised no longer exists. -

Yep, the Creation Club is microtransactions. Here's a link to a post on Reddit that has all of the info archived. And a video by someone else. -

I've relegated this thread to 'Off Topic' since nothing about this supposed leak from Target can be verified. I've looked and there's nothing but screenshots of something that might have come from Target and there's plenty of speculation. Nothing of substance to warrant this as news.- 16 replies
