Hmm, it must not have been 'Leather Pet' there was a gimp type mask from Kendo though I thought. Kendo even remembers one. I will have to check some really old drives and see if I have it stuffed in the main download folder somewhere because at the time I wasn't using a mod manager. (pathetic I know)

Huh.  I know that mask was in there because that's what Sesom was most interested in.

I'm working on a Lezdom comic right now and it's pretty involved, but when I'm done with that I'll make some Raider/Slave gimp stuff.  I already have most of the hard shit done so it's just a matter of making a male version hood mesh (already have the textures) and building an esp.

Did you upload Leather Pet that was stored in your Nexus Mod Manager if I could get the Nexus Mod ID that would help.

The nexus ID is 15869. I had the mod backed up and uploaded it. I don't currently have Fallout 3 installed. However, The archives don't have the Nexus ID, but the images I saved from Nexus had the IDs.

So I have this issue, I though I might as well come here and ask. Any idea what could cause colored people to show up more purple than brown?

Here's Jericho as an example, but pretty much any african-american race male looks like this

Notice the face is the right color, then from the neck down it turns purple-ish

Jokes aside... I didn't see that last time I tried this. Sorry I don't have a game installed to check now.

A few things before the expert (Kendo) chimes in...

Did you have any other body mods installed (conflict)

Perhaps show your load order so that in case there is a issue there it can be seen.

 

I have seen white bodied black men (or is it black bodied white men I forget) and that was due to a configure file. Does it happen to non Raider black men as well (like the Sheriff )

Never seen purple like that before.  And the face/neck are on the same mesh and texture so it's purple too.

Look in your data fiolder; Data\textures\characters\male

Be sure there are 3 files for each texture; handmale, handmale_n, handmale_sk, headhuman, headhuman_n and so on.

Do that for the folders ghoul and raider too.

If all of the files are there; the next check is any mods that change specific NPCs.  For instance, vanilla Jericho is a Hispanic male, not an African American Raider.  Deactivate those esps and see if it fixes things.

Okay I've caught it. Some plugin was changing his race from HispanicOld to HispanicRaider and the game was strongly disagreeing.

Well it's good to get a fresh perspective in on the brainstorming. I mean, Kendo went straight for it with the race, I wouldn't have thought of that any time soon. Because for me, hispanic, hispanic old and hispanic raider should all be the same damn color. I don't even know where to start following this voodoo logic the game has.

    I can not seem to be able to change the males from vanilla.  Females all accept the pody replacers while males keep the washed out undie look.  I've actually tried three different breeze versions, one male texture and have followed all instructions to a T.  Now, I'm not saying that I did it right as I am awaiting cataract surgery and can't read none too well.  But having gone through these post I can say that I have no file named "upperbodymale."  Is this the issue?

 

     And, honestly, at this point, it's not even about getting the body the way I want as much as trying to get the GD thing to work.

Yes, that is the issue...probably.    Go to the folder Data\meshes\characters\_male and look for the files upperbody_nude erect,  upperbody_nude and  upperbodymale_underwear shorts.  Rename the mesh of your choice to upperbodymale.

Nope.  I was hoping , though.  Now, with no other body replacers, any idea what kind of mod would be giving me grief?  Just asking because the next step is to begin de-activaing mods, which tends to make the game get buggy for me.

Okay, I have questions:

Is that a custom race or a vanilla one?

Do you have Archive Invalidation Invalidated installed?  Yeah, that is the FO3 version and it works better than the NV one.

What hair mod/mods are you using?  And are you using a mod that adds more eye color options?

AHAH!  The tribal race is your problem.  In the game files those races (Dead Horse, White Legs, etc.) are NOT set up like normal races.  They are set up more like creatures.  Anyway, the file paths for the tribals are no where near what the vanilla playable races are.  They are a convoluted mess actually.  Try making a vanilla male character since I'm 100% sure that it's the custom race fucking with your game chill.
