Does EA ban you just for using incest mods or only if you stream? if you want to use some of the even darker mods do you have to play on steam?

So I want all the information out there.

First I don't stream, and I have no desire to stream and if I did it would be a separate computer without certain mods installed.  I also don't talk about what I do with my game and this is the first time I'm talking about it.

I play to get fanfiction ideas and my main fandom is a show about bionic siblings. But in my headcanons they're not genetically related, they were just raised as siblings. If you know what show I'm talking about then you could guess. Like I ship Brase, they're only set as siblings in CAS so Donald could parent them. The only actual incest in my eyes is my twin OCs who in my headcanons were kidnapped and abused and that's where the incest started, and they do have a poly relationship with Marcus.

This is a serious question because I don't stream, I only play for myself and I don't spread my business around. I only use the incest and teen stuff features of wicked and mcc, although I actually haven't played in two years and am getting back in. And I had basemetal drugs installed for pot.

I don't want to get banned when I use sims as a coping skill and for fanfiction ideas.

If they ban you even if you don't stream wouldn't I have been banned already?

Would if be better to rebuy sims 4 on steam since I don't have all the packs just a few?

I have similar mods for 3 but I have all the packs so I can't rebuy them all.

Can you transfer sims and saved games from origin files to stream files?

Does steam care as much? Like if I really wanted to download abuse mods to stimulate and cope?  I don't mean any pedo stuff I just  mean dad choking out the kid/teen or whatever.

I only had the bestiality mod for 3 once for kicks and then deleted it bc I thought it was gross because it was actual animals and not furries.

Again, I don't stream and I don't spread my business around I just use sims and fanfiction as coping skills for my mental health.

Thanks for your advice in advance because I have severe anxiety and this is the first I'm learning that EA can ban you for mods, but I don't stream or spread my buisness around.

Primarily, EA has no way of knowing what mods you have installed unless you tell them or show them with screenshots.  If you're seriously worried about it just play in off-line mode and stay off of the Sims Gallery.  Regardless they can't legally ban you from your software (the game) unless you violate the software license (pirating/sharing/decrypting code/etc).  Their goofy community is not under that license.

I've had people tell me that EA knows what mods you use and stuff, but I only screenshot stuff for myself and don't post stuff anywhere. If I wanted to post stuff it would be clean stuff on a separate computer and have one computer for the adult mods and one without. Once I get in a better situation I'm looking into building a new computer and then rebuilding my old computer.

I know how to cover my ass and don't tell anyone my business but people are scaring me.

I just use sims to cope. And I think that some of these murderers and criminals should have just used sims mods instead of killing real people and stuff.

As far as I know EA can enumerate some of your mods via telemetry, this can be blocked on steam and disc versions of Sims 3 using a firewall. You cannot do this on Origin for both S3 and S4.

Now this is done on mods that change core functions so I beleive it’s used for debug purposes, I doubt EA is looking for people using naughty mods just to ban them, unless you’re one of the influencers recruited by marketing to promote the game.

So you should be safe except for the streaming platform own rules that normally don’t like this type of content. So yeah,,,

I don't stream. If I ever did it would be on a clean computer. Eventually I need to build a new computer and then rebuild my old computer.

Can you transfer sims and saved games from origin files to steam files? How do you set up a firewall? Does a VPN work or do you need an actual firewall?

I have used many mods on Origin for Sims 4 and didn't have a problem. Generally as far as I have seen, Origin only bans stuff that is "online" MMO and such. Not private users games. Again, that I have seen.

Both origin and steam (and also the disc version) create a directory in ‘My documents’ folder, is the same one where you install your mods. So in theory once you install the game on steam it will read this instantly and use your previous setting, saves, etc. Just in case make a backup.

I use simplewall which in reality it’s a frontend for window’s own firewall but easier to use. Once installed the program will alert you of any application that wants to connect, then you can select to allow it, block it or allow it for a certain number or minutes.

IMO VPNs are useful in cases where your IP is static, the government is actively censoring its people or you want to watch a foreign version of Netflix. There’s also the case of avoiding “Big Tech” but that’s also a different can of worms.

Everybody else should use https on websites (all browsers can do this on settings) along with an adblock like ublock origin or adguard to remove tracking and fingerprint by scripts, cookies and other means, also those annoying ads. Not a perfect solution but miles ahead better than not using it.

People keep scaring me, and I'm not sure what's best. it's crazy that they want our money and don't care that we already spent money and they can ban us for no reason other then they looked at our mods folder.

Maybe if there was more violent mods then there would be less crime because people would be doing crime in the sims instead. I don't want to do crime but I'm a write and sims helps visualize stories. And as long as someone isn't hurting real people then they should want them to keep spending money on the game.

Sadly the Sims community is filled with a lot of misinformation. You just have to look at the number of people who make mods for mature audiences for Sims 1, 2, 3 and 4 to know that EA isn’t banning anyone, they would alienate a lot of people if they start playing moral police on a supposed "life simulator".

Of course that doesn’t mean you’re free to upload mature stuff to the exchange or the official forums, everywhere else should be safe including here of course (except tumblr, they are very inconsistent when applying their rules).

I have never heard of this, but imagine they could do something to make you need to side step. Anyone actually ever read the entire EULA? I sure did... NOT. I have seen a lot of things saying, "Don't use for (this or that)", including porn, +18, etc.

Still, unless you play online thru Origin, as mentioned, how would they know what you do?

I went full disk recently, so nothing I worry about. It is a hit or miss deal these days. I completed my TS3 collection by buying used disks on Amazon. I stuck to "very good" condition description, and the disks were clean, and most were much less than half price of new. The key is to get a base game disk that is pre-Origin (hit or miss), as it won't require that you install that garbage, and go online to start installation. After that, even EP's or SP's that ARE Origin, will install to the pre-Origin base game.

If the disk cover says Origin anywhere on it, it's Origin. Older disk covers only had EA on them.

EDIT: OY! If you do go full disk at some point, you will need the super patch, which patches to 1.67. Only thing I really notice is no pigeons.

I am of the same mentality.  Mature stuff needs to be separated from anything sanctioned by Origin/EA Much like you see happening with adult mods here and elsewhere.

I doubt Origin/EA will try to shut anybody down. Haven't heard anyone being banned that didn't post works and such on official or SFW sites. I have used adult mods WHILE still being ONLINE with Origin and nothing happened. You do h ave to be careful to not accidentally upload something to the site while you are online of course. If you did that, you deserve to be banned. Nobody wants to know your kinks. :P  Jokes aside there is a strong SFW presence and even people not old enough to participate in such materials that are using the same game. I consider being respectful to the community and keeping the materials I use away from sensitive eyes enough to prevent myself from being banned.

No, of course we don't want kids finding 18 plus stuff on accident. (although while I am old enough to drink now I had some nsfw stuff in sims 3 before I was 18, but mostly nrass mods and the woohoo skill was the only 18 plus I had back them. But I was already quite prolific with fanfiction and had my own computer and sims kept me out of actual trouble as a teenager. Of course not evenryone feels the same way at least virtual woohoo can't give real stds.

Eventual goals are to have a clean computer and a computer for naughty mods. In process of diagnosing computer that needs to eventually be rebuilt after I build another one. It works but its quirky from whoever did the BIOS (I picked out the parts and fry's electronics built it).

That's a good idea too for sims 3. I used to collect dolls and junk so I'm good at ebay hunting too and spotting red flags there.
