Better than Starfield though. I watched an old Starfield video again yesterday and couldn't believe how bad they were in comparison. Well, not this one. 🤣

Oh hell yea it is better than Starfield. This was when Bethesda had skilled people that both wanted to create good games and was allowed to make good games. Not the whatever it is now.

    Over it too.

I"ve been over Bethesda games since Fallout 4. The game was still good enough to be satisfied with it (after they decided to roll out modding support) but nothing really after that. IN fact very few games after that were decent for me to even consider paying full price for it. Funny most channeled the games of 20 or more years ago.

More full screen popups for Windows 10 users, even at startup! I'm glad I switched to Linux, these popups are frustrating. They seem desperate to get Windows 10 users to upgrade.

My employer has one of those subscriptions for commercial 365. You know, the one where they roll it out to all the people in their organization that needs this.

Well, apparently I and several others are being prompted to pay for a 365 as ours is no longer valid. They give a doom date and pop that motherfucker up near full screen at least 2-3 times a day. With constant bar present telling us that our subscription no longer is valid and we need to pay for another one to continue the service.

Our Help Desk has no clue why it is happening to people. At least none that they will tell the employees that are being hit with this. They confirm that we are on the list (still) and our subscriptions are still valid. That is about all they can do.

Just another crappy thing Microsoft is doing to their customers. It is either crappy or incompetent. Which ever you want to think it is. In both cases, totally unnecessary and uncalled-for.

I leave work and come home to my Linux machines with some free office option and a little minor notification from time to time telling me I have some updates available and get right to whatever I want to do without any bullshit. Continue doing what I want until I decide to update. The free office products are about as good as Microsoft Office, and when you consider the cost and not having to deal with Microsoft bullshit... WAY more valuable.

I am so glad I pushed myself to use Linux more and more and even more glad when I decided I was going to use it 100% for day to day stuff (minus games). Wish I started this sooner. Next step is getting a decent computer and passing through a graphics card and whatever else I need and virtualizing Windows so that I can treat it like the bitch it is. With zero worries (snapshot) knowing I can roll back whatever bullshit update they send or the like.

That's a hard pass. The biggest redeeming factor for this game is the mods and the ability to remove the unnecessary changes. Besides, mods are the only reason I want to play it. I'm just salivating at the prospect of installing Lovers with PK and wreaking havoc in Imperial City with tentacle monsters. xD

As I understand it the script extender isn't up to the task yet to even port Lovers over. Much less if someone would.

The more I see what is happening. The more I think why?  You can add your own graphic upgrade. There are only a few game play changes. Pretty much the same as the old game. Pay >50 dollars for a reskin of a game? Just stick to the OG version and wait until this version is <10 dollars on sale. If that. By that time any mods that would be created would likely have been created.

I still want to play the game, but I refuse to give Bethesda my money, and then I see stuff like this that makes me not want to play it. Was it necessary to re-record this line?

If you have Xbox you can get it through game pass (included) Not moddable but playable. However it does mean you would have to pay for at least one month's worth. Fortunately you can cancel anytime

Gamers in Asia consume mods from a wide range of sources; blogs, western sites, Russian and 'westerners-not-welcome' Asian websites, etc.  They don't limit themselves to sites like Nexus.  Several years ago a Japanese modder named MunkeyFinger told me that his circle of friends HATED Nexus and refused to use it or allow their mods to be uploaded there, and that was before Dork0ne blew his cover about being a greedy prick and went buck-wild knob-licker woke.

A Russian modder pointed me to some of the Russian sites. They got some shit! lol Of course I download it in LInux and scan the living fuck out of it. :P (however, I do the same for Nexus. ) Funny story. Only mod site I ever had any flags or issues with regarding any virus notifications or warrings etc. Guess which one? If you guessed Nexus, you'd be right.  You'd think when I point exactly where the source is they would do something about it. Well. you would guess wrong. I pointed and gave them the exact ad that was causing this issue and they stated they don't have anything to do with the ads. I kid you not. So they don't have a choice in having ads? They can't change the ads? They can't t ell the ad company to not use that or report they have a hacked ad? For Nexus, this is the case. Their hands were tied.

I had to install FNIS in a separate bottle. It needed it's own set of dependencies.

How do these bottles interact? Aren't they virtual machines or are they more sandboxed apps. Sorry, having a time wrapping my mind around these. I remember you mentioning these a bit ago but never followed up. Watched a few videos and looked at some of the information.

    Sounds cool none the less

I installed everything with Bottles. SKSE, BodySlide, FNIS all worked. I could have used Mod Organizer 2, but I prefer to install mods manually.

The only problem I had was the way Kubuntu handles folders. Kubuntu (and other Linux distros I assume) allows two folders to have the same name if the first word in one folder is uppercase and the first word in the second folder is lowercase. This broke some mods, but once I realized what the problem was, I moved all the files to the appropriate folders and the rest was smooth sailing.

Unix not only Linux allows a name to have the "same" name provided that you have different characters in it. For example

    Doublezero

    DoubleZero

    dOublezEro

Are all the same "name" but Linux sees it as different and will treat it as a different folder name.

Everything installed in one Bottle? Or different bottles.

Watched some of a live stream; Oblivion remastered ain't all that.  And the streamer said that every time he crafts a potion the game crashes.

I had a time figuring out which game they were referring to. I know they have to be using a unmodding game as a comparision. There are very likey many textures that you can use to improve the looks. With the game play being essentially the same, I can't even see any reason to get the game. Hell, even play it on Xbox if I had a game pass option.

Console gamers are going to be in for some fun frustration.

Who cares :P They choose easy so they get easy. This is so easy they can't do anything!  Hogwarts does the same. Mods are able to be done on the PC but not on Xbox. They just don't want to deal with that issue.

Glorious? I don't really see it. That combined with the changes referencing Skyrim (the dragon on exiting the sewer). I momentarily got excited with the possibility of modding the game. Wait until it is on a massive sale, get it. However, I don't see it even on a major sale. Even the 30 dollar option that the host mentioned is too high in my opinion.

Bethesda isn't even going to support modding. The key reason it is so praised (original Oblivion) The reason it last so long. The reason so many got excited about this release. Even with this, it is doing excellently. Imagine how it would be if they opened .. hell, even their fucking storefront for curated mods.

It looks good, but not being able to mod out bugs is an issue.  If the original engine is 'the brain' and Unreal5 is 'the body' the game is a Slavic 8 with AOC's mentality.

    3 hours ago, Doublezero said:

If the original engine is still working under the hood, then it's possible for someone to hack together unofficial modding tools. This is actually a good thing. No official mod support means no paid mods! LOL. I've done a complete 180 on this game.

    you have a point there.

    https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-oblivion-unreal-engine-5-remake-is-now-rumored-to-release-during-the-week-of-april-21st/

However, the upside is apparently it wasn't done by Bethesda. So there is that. As I understand it, FNV wasn't done by Bethesda as well and even with the crappy engine most like that release.

I can only imagine how much of a nightmare it would be to mod that with both engines. Gamebro was fragile as it was. OH, maybe they were testing using Unreal Engine for visuals on the remaster as a test to see if they want to do it for the new TES game?

  10. I just got a notification on my facebook about the Bethesda event tomorrow. From their official whatever. Anyway, the responses are absoultely insane.

There are many there that swear that they will do the event then announce that it is ready to play now. Several others bitching and complaining that it is being released as well as fallout 3 (in the future ) and still no new TES game. Is it me thinking that that shit doesn't matter? I mean, it should be easy to do a remaster and potentially get them more $$$ that can help pay for the upcoming TES game. That makes sense, correct? I mean even with a bad company like Bethesda. Or am I just missing something? If so please explain.

The insanity goes on with they going back to Fallout Shelter as a "shadow release" as an example. They stated that Bethesda is so clever and do things like this. I had to stop  reading further as I would have puked. I also wished I didn't read it at all. lol

Looks like it. It's from the official Bethesda X account and they have a YouTube live steam going. Now we'll have an official confirmation and no more rumors.

They did address it I assume by the time it was suppose to be "released".  Another fail by Bethesda. Likely they will give a song and dance about how they will work on a updated release of Oblivion. Then make people wait years for it to be released and make all sorts of SJW changes and other bullshit to it in the mean time.  Todd will likley stand there (or one of his minions ) and claim all sorts of lies that this new updated version will be able to do.

Look as far as I can see, port it to the new version of GAme bro and update the graphics and perhaps sound. leave the quest intact. If they feel generious, fix the shit that they dropped when it was released and never delivered. Missing quest and such. Leave everything the same. People love the game. Do this and they will have an easy success. But they can't IMO Stand it. They will have to fuck it up thinking they are making it better. More appealing and such.

  12. It apparently is only coming out on Xbox and maybe PlayStation 5. Not PC. Many of the "sources" are stating this.

If it is coming out. It is a few hours from now. 12pm eastern seems to be the time everybody is claiming it is

If it is legit. It might be the time that Microsoft / Bethesda announces it, not releases it. If I remember correctly, they played a similar game regarding a fallout release. I believe it was fallout 4. They had a web page that had some cryptic information.

Fauci is 100% FUCKED.  New Zealand has charged his goofy Alfred E Newman looking ass with over 100,000 counts of negligent homicide and 14 countries have deemed him a bioterrorist.  That puts him on the same level as Idi Amin.  AND Trump is redoubling his efforts to revoke PeePaw Biden's blanket pardon after he got the news about New Zealand.

I doubt Trump can revoke his pardon. He may be however allowed to send him to an other country if we have extradition treaty with them. For the crimes he is being charged with.

One question gaming YouTubers should be asking right now is whether Microsoft is allowing Bethesda to maintain creative control over their IPs. Because if they do, there is no way Todd Howard wouldn't have knowledge that an Oblivion remake is in the works. Either Todd is lying or no game is being made.

I remember Obsidian wanted to add a mini story to Fallout: New Vegas about San Francisco being destroyed, but Bethesda had them remove it.

I don't see a third party studio making a remake of Oblivion without some oversight from Bethesda.

Well it wouldn't be like Todd didn't lie before. ;)  He has lied many times previously. Honestly, I don't think this is an actual thing. Maybe, they might be letting the hype train go to see how much people want a remake. To see if it is worth it to persue. I'd assume it woudln't be super difficult for them to remake the game if they follow the same as the original. The music is there. The dialoge is there. They would need to rework the graphics and meshes and make it fit in the new engine (If assuming they are going to use Unreal 5 or something) If it is the same engine just updated, they can easily fix it. They have experience with Skyrim/Fallout 4 if my memory serves me correctly. They were working on Skyrim SE learning when developing Fallout 4. you can still find assets from older games moved over to the new ones (TES and FAllout )  Some assets even from the other game IP lol. Or so I was infromed.

I see Microsoft letting Bethesda control their IP ... at least hs up to to a point. Microsoft is like any other American company. They want $$$ and they want it as cheaply as possible. They also don't want their IP or companys to have negative presse that will blow back to them.  So log as Todd can do this, I don't see them taking the IP away from Bethesda. However, look at Starfail and all that happened with that. How far off the mark they were. Looking back how far off the mark they were for FAllout 76 and Fallout 4. Sure they got better but the press each time was negative and got worse each release. This isn't a one off event. If they had Skyrim level fame up to the point where they failed Starfail, one could chalk it up to a fluke.

I honestly see Bethesda shutting down.  Perhaps when Todd leaves. Who knows what agreements were made with the takever. I am sure Todd got his golden ticket to exit.
