I'm shocked, SHOCKED! Not really. Smart TVs suck as well because eventually the OS is outdated and you are forced to buy a new smart TV to continue to use certain apps. Modern vehicles, smart televisions, smart phones, a lot of stuff are made to break quick and get repaired, or replaced.

It goes beyond that. Have you ever looked at a car from the 80 or before? Notice the fabric and carpet holds up way better than it does now on newer cars? I found a YouTube channel that talked about how they repair and update old Tesla cars. How they were designed with limited updates which when another one comes along and there isn't anymore writes to the ROM chip it starts to make the car in "limp mode" or the like.

It would be perfectly fine to me if they made these items super cheap and easily replaceable. However, cars and other electronics which were cheaper or in the case of TVs and such were getting cheaper now are going up out of this world.

For TV, I already have a plan. I will use a Chromecast or something homemade using a Raspberry Pi to continue using my TV. For Apple products, there is a firmware and software system that will extend the use and allow updates beyond the premature discontinuing of Apple products. (prevent updates)  Google phones have a process where you can get and install a pure android option or even Linux on select phones. Phones like the pixel. Have the same option with my Chromebook if it still works when they stop supporting it. (for some strange reason, they keep on extending the level of support. Not complaining, but have to put that out there. ) It came from Google, not a third party.

My biggest bitch on this type of subject is their refusal to allow you to work on their products even AFTER they declare it obsolete. Tesla is horrible in this case. Apple is in the same boat. Makes it harder for third party vendors to do work to keep perfectly fine hardware up and running until it is very reasonable to send to the junkyard or trash heap.

Thanks to another bitter, man-hating feminist. This cunt, like the rest of them, needs to go get a life and leave us (men and women) alone to enjoy our hobby. VISA and Mastercard need to stop dictating what we can and cannot buy. It's none of their damn business just like hers.

As I mentioned above this is what I was told and advised to use to update Macs so that it can use the most current OS. Keep in mind that there are major firmware and hardware changes so not all NEW programs and features will work properly or at all.

For really old and weak computers including Mac>

For more modern and capable computers Linux Mint would work fine.

The example above is great. It is Debian so that you can pretty much install almost anything that you can on Unbuntu.

Damn you YT. My views have taken a nose dive since the other day. I was breaking over 200 views in less than a day, and my last video can't even break 200 in 3 days. And to top that off, I've been closely monitoring my latest video (as I have my previous ones) I uploaded and it was at 191 views. I just recently checked and it's down to 190. This is ticking me off. I can tell that this is not organic by any means.

How can views go DOWN?  Someone went back in time and decided they didn't want to watch your video?  What is more believable is that YT is able to control, literally, change views on videos at their whims.

Years ago there was programs that protected children. Sites would add themselves to the list and those that had this setup on their computers wouldn't be able to access this content. I forget the name. It worked. YT adding themselves to the same age checks would easily be done by setting themselves up with a system that would flag the content, and this program/setup wouldn't allow such content to be added. The parents, you know, those that protect their children ... as it should be. Would set this up on the child's computer (and any computer that children would use, like at school or libraries. The problem would be solved.

The drawback was sites that had adult content wouldn't join. A simple law and penalty would resolve that. No need for this added bullshit.
