Don't know about this one, but browsing forums like F95 has taught me that people who make porn games in general, especially the ones who make "episodic" games, often have the nasty habit of "milking" the audience and because of that I can't honestly say that I'm surprised with this one's being offered as an EA game. Even if I was interested in it, which I'm not, I'd rather wait for the complete game before paying anything for it. The game play shown in the video is by no means looks interesting or fun for me, but I'm curious about the actual "porn" stuff in the game.

I don't buy early access or prerelease versions of games.  And after FO4 I won't buy a game unless I can see actual game play by someone who's not a shill.

As far as Subverse goes; the mobile device turn based combat and the Asteroids clone portions really don't interest me.  BUT if what I know about FOW pans out then the sex scenes will probably be worth the price.  There's stuff on 3DAaffect that costs more and does less.

I really wanted to like this. I was one of the original backers so I've been waiting for this game for a very long time and I remember being excited about how much money it earned because I thought there'd finally be a high quality porn game but this is barely a porn game.

First let me say that the gameplay is actually pretty good. I've never played a shmup before and I rarely play turned based fighting games but I really enjoyed both of them. I enjoyed them so much that I flew to every single galaxy and played every available side mission thing. As of now I have nothing left to do in the game except jerk off.

However, the reason I (along with thousands of other people) backed this on kickstarter was because it was a porn game and it's just not a very good one. While I was waiting for this game to release, I started playing a bunch of adult virtual novels (some of which are on Steam) and this would fall into the bottom quarter of the ones I've played. This game got over two million dollars and all the sex scenes are just 3 second looping animations with a fixed camera angle and all the "special" scenes are the exact same except they have a slider to set the speed. I can think of dozens of VN's made with a lot less money that has more engaging sex scenes than the ones in this.

On top of that, apart from the recruitment missions the sex isn't integrated into the story at all. You'd think that a porn game would have the porn be apart of the story but nope. They just make a bunch of references to sex and when you want to see any of the scenes you have to go to the captains room and view them there. It feels like they had put off the porn until the last minute and just decided to put everything into a corner instead of trying to integrate it into the game.

Maybe things will improve as more updates come out and if they do then I'll change my rating but as of now this game is not worth the money. You'd be better off playing one of the many other VN's on this platform for a third of the price."

 

I placed it on my wishlist just to monitor if they continually update it. Along with this one that I've been eyeing: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1495320/Carnal_Instinct/ Which seems to be unpurchaseable until they update it fully.. considering this review: "You'll need to spend $10/month on patreon to get the latest monthly build. That's right, buy the game for early access but then pay again on their patreon for the privilege of actually accessing the latest version."

 

At this point I'm thinking of just shelling out bucks for: https://3dsexemulator.xyz/ Or just deal with the same o'l animations of Skyrim/TS3/TS4. Fun for a quicker buildup for an orgasm, but that is all those games are really good for after thousands of hours played on them. I'd prolly get bored just with that, and just watch Chaturbate or something.

Obviously I'm not the intended target, but the sorts of "spicy" games that would interest me would be interesting on their own without any sexy times. If you remove all the spicy and it's good, THEN add the spicy stuff.

 

But yeah, not for me for sure. And definitely NO to prerelease nonsense! That is no way to go for a game regardless of genre.

VN stands for Visual Novel. You can find plenty of shitty porn VNs for free at places such as F95 trying to pass as a "game" or at least that's what some idiots refer to them. You might come across some relatively decent ones with choice based branching stories as well as some minor role-playing elements with stats as well as some mini games and so on. Most of the ones I've tried were made using a Python game development toolkit called Ren'Py and either featured retarded hand-drawn anime characters or some crappy daz3d renders as images. Generally speaking, you just keep clicking to follow through a certain story and there's no game play or whatsoever. Some of relatively decent ones I've tried:

Latex and bondage fetish on another planet in a futuristic scifi setting. Pretty good writing for a porn VN.

Our Red String (Ren'Py) (In development):
There are two main characters a girl and a guy and you have to follow both of their stories. Similar to GGGB above, made by the same guy/girl.

The review is not my own. I just chose what seemed to be a good honest review showing the negatives. I usually look at negative reviews, and if they only complain of technical issues, I look at positive ones to make a deciding factor. This one shows that the gameplay itself is okay, but the sex (which IMO) is the main draw, is lackluster as of right now. Maybe they will improve and add a bit more to it, but that is why I wishlisted it, so I can find it again, as well as keep an eye on it. 

As for Skyrim animations, yes, they are well done, but I've seen most of them more times than I can count. I've been to every cave/barrow/crypt/etc and have probably had sex with every single NPC there more than twice + populated Skyrim npcs. It gets kinda old, and the gameplay, well, even an auto-playing Skyrim wouldn't keep me interested that long. It is one reason I kept going to Off-Topic on LL so much. I was done actually "playing" Skyrim.

Yes, a "sex" game should have half-decent gameplay first, but if the sex isn't integrated into it in a somewhat decent fashion then it fails as a sex game. Maybe I'm just picky. I would consider some of what ME:A had as "decent integration", though it could have been a bit more involved, IMO much longer, or at least being able to do it multiple times. Hell, even The Witcher 2 had a good integration of sex scenes within the gameplay, much better than getting a card in The Witcher 1.

As for Chaturbate: https://chaturbate.com/ I only watch, I do NOT tip. I've seen some guys tip cam girls 80 USD at a time over and over again (1000 tokens: https://support.chaturbate.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037125892-Buying-tokens ) One guy did it at least a good 10 times. He blew 1K USD on just a girl masturbating on a webcam. Now, that guy was really hard up. For that price you can get a top notch escort for the entire night. Heck, I had a hooker for 100 USD an hour. (benefits of living on the border). Although, I've spent more in one night with the possibility of having a good lay the normal way. If all I'm interested in is the sex, a hooker does the job just fine.

Oh yeah. Negatives are the only thing that will tell you anything. Pretty much about any product too. If the negatives are all stupid, might be ok. If the negatives are well reasoned and detailed, may want to avoid.

Witcher 1 I just couldn't get into. I liked Witcher 2 except for the combat. (Never did beat the dragon towards the end, I'm not playing dodge the giant lizard for 10 minutes. ) Witcher 3.... the game itself was great (except being forced to play some ugly guy). In fact W3 is probably the best modern RPG. The sex though... ugh. Cringe. Their trouble is they went half way. Either go all the way or fade to black. My last game had the Triss in the lighthouse scene. I was about on the ground laughing.

For me the "gold" standard for games + some sex is an old mod for Neverwinter Nights. A Dance with Rogues. I guess I've always been looking for that type of thing since. Doesn't exist apparently.

You have good taste and high standards. It's funny that even though Skyrim has better graphics, better tools for modding, has massive total conversion mods such as Enderal, and unlike crappy old NWN, it even has an animation framework to do sex scenes and yet nobody has made or even attempted to make a mod like ADwR.

Or even something like Stranded Light from Oblivion. It's like Oblivion was the end of the major quest mods.

But yeah, ADWR was a class of its own. It's a crying shame that the 3rd one was never released. Then again, I'd just be more spoiled than I am already from the first two.
