i think, everybody know this. The other charity-song of this era was - Do they know it's Christmas? - by Band Aid, some month before.

 

The Germans had made a Charity-Song too, here is a Live-Version of this Song with English-Subs.

^ This is what makes this site so great. Different people from different places sharing their experiences. :) I would have likely never even known of this much less heard it otherwise.

I remember that there were many benefit events or Songs, be it for tragedy, fundraising or similar. Sometimes against Nuclear upgrade.
