Movie Lovers Thread

Recommended Posts

This is the Movie Lovers Thread. It has been created by me since the Music Lovers thread is so popular. :)

Now for the rules...

keep it clean (no porno's) however it can be mature in nature. (X rated just not XXX rated etc) Keep the entries or links in a spoiler to help keep the thread easily navigated. It can be links, reviews, recommendations, thoughts, etc.

Dances with Wolves

Dances With Wolves

Spoiler

In Dancing With Wolves you have a man rejecting the chaos and insanity of his known world for belonging and acceptance among a people without guile nor manipulation,a people that measures a man according to his behavior instead of his affiliations. In the Sioux society you gained power by what you brought to the people, prominence was earned not handed down due to rank or class.

What i liked most about this movie was that the Sioux language was accurately depicted. The language you hear in this movie is authentic.

My favorite characters are Dunbar,Wind in his Hair,Stands with Fist,Kicking Bird,Smiles a Lot and Ten Bears.

Custer's last stand

If you don't consider this a movie,so be it,delete it,no problem.

Spoiler

Custer's last oops..Poor General Custer, it wasn't women and children he attempted to murder at little Big Horn. No, it was the best warriors of the Lakota, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho that met him on the field of battle this day and they kicked his fucking ass.

Yay, a new topic. Hmm okay.

Which Movies are my favorites. I'll make  for this moment a Top 10 List.

10. Interstellar - C. Nolan

9. TLotR - The Return of the King - P. Jackson (german Title - Die Rückkehr des Königs)

8. The Dark Knight - C. Nolan

7. 2001 - A Space Odyssey - S. Kubrick (german Title - 2001 - Odyssee im Weltraum)

6. Once upon a Time in the West - S. Leone (german Title - Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod)

5. Clockwork Orange - S. Kubrick (german Title - Uhrwerk Orange)

4. Inception - C. Nolan

3. The Godfather II - F.F. Coppola (german Title - Der Pate 2)

2. The Godfather - F.F. Coppola (german Title - Der Pate)

1. The Shawshank Rendemption - F. Darabont (german Title - Die Verurteilten)

These Movies i watched very often. But there are too many Movies, to put them all in a Top 10 List. Some of them i watched in the original Version, but it's hard to understand, i do this mostly after i 've seen them in my native Language, it's easier for me to follow it <.<'

LOL... glad you liked the addition of a new topic... :D

I did like 2001 The Space Odyssey as well as the Godfathers (not sure which is my favorite :P)  Clockwork Orange was a bit on the brutal side, entertaining but strange as well. I believe I was missing some points due to different culture. (I am an alien after all :P)

Hehe, you're an Alien, I am just a mild mannered Succubus. But sometimes it is crazy ,what a lot different Movie genres could be wake up the interest.

A few weeks ago, i watched ST - Wrath of Khan, Die Hard 1-3 (4.0 and 5 I'm not talking about :/ ) and T2. A Week later the Lord of the Rings Trilogy Extended Edition in one row. So different is my interest.

Here a Voice compare from Bruce Willis

English OV Trailer

And the same with german Voice Actors

In Germany there was a very popular italian Comedy Duo, named Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill. They started with a new Synchro (Voice Acting) with the Spaghetti Western - They call me Trinity (in german - Die Linke und die Rechte Hand des Teufels) in 1981, the first Version was released in 1970 with a serious Voice Acting. The Movies of this Dou were very successful in Germany, Suisse and Austria with the funny one liners and the slapstick weaponless fight Elements. Here some other Movies with the Duo.

Watch out! We're Mad - Zwei wie Pech und Schwefel - ... altrimenti arrabbiamo!

One with their slapstick fights

Spoiler

All the Way, Boys! - Zwei Himmelhunde auf dem Weg zur Hölle - ... piu forte, Ragazzi!

Double Trouble - Vier Fäuste in Rio - Non c'è due senza quattro

Who finds a Friend finds a Treasure - Zwei Asse trumpfen aus - Chi trove un Amico, trova un tescoro

Outside from Europe, they would be more unknown. Compareable with  the - Smokey and The Bandit -  humour.

Hells Angels on Wheels full movie.

Not the greatest movie ever but i enjoyed it.I used to love bar fights,in the 70's that was my weekend enjoyment.I'd wake in the morning hungover with a black eye or two and get ready for next weekend.A bar fight back then was understood,no weapons just fists. Things have fucking changed.

A wizard forgets never, nor he is with the thought of being elsewhere, he remeber  precisely whe he means to.

I love the Trilogy.  One of the reasons, why i play Role Play Games,
